COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Pours an opaque black with a tan head. Smells of chocolate, molasses and heavy bourbon. This beer starts off in chocolate and molasses taste then the booze flavor comes straight through. This is not the most balanced beer. The flavors do not blend and meld well. It is way too heavy on the alcohol taste. It leaves a sour alcohol taste on the tongue.

Bomber - Vintage 2014. Near black in color with a small frothy tan head. Bourbon, oak and vanilla cream aroma. Heavy roasted flavor with dark chocolate, vanilla ice cream, some ripe fruit and a bourbon finish. Creamy texture and well carbonated. Goes down way too smooth for 11% abv. Great tasting stout!

On tap at Cafe Hollander. Very dark pour, dense tan head with nice lacing. A very creamy, smooth beer with lots of oak mixed in with roast flavors. Generally sweet, but it dries out in the end with just a hint of hop finish. Nice.

Bottle at Winking Lizard Tavern (Independence). Winking Lizard had nothing new on tap, but they had a great bottle selection. Headed by this beer. Pours a deep black color like heavy Motor oil. Boozy with a bourbon backbone. Lots of thick chocolate with vanilla and some coffee. Some good sweetness. The Bourbon is very noticeable.

Tiny head. Dark black into stemware. Not much smell. Semi light mouth feel with a bit of a bite in carbonation. Tastes of chocolate vanilla some malts and alcohol.

tastes of oak and maybe a hint of cherry? Thin velvet mouthfeel with a fairly dry sting at the end.

Outstanding beer. Pours a deep brown, small khaki head. Aroma is bourbon, oak, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and a hint of cinnamon. Taste for me coffee stood out, and bourbon was in the background with hints of vanilla and chocolate. I got no alcohol burn at all. This was the first time trying this and I was very pleased. The part I’m confused on is that it was a 12 oz bottle and I thought was yar round. This says winter seasonal and is a bomber in the pic. Odd?

Had on tap at the ginger man in NYC. Pours a deep rich black with beautiful fragrance thats followed by the rich taste. Nicely balanced and not too sweet for a milk stout, hope to have again soon.

On draft @ Ale House Amesbury, MA. Pitch black color no light penetrates this bad boy. Aroma is dark fruit and chocolate dominate with light notes of oak.

Flavor starts with burnt espresso bean and hints of roast. The center has milk chocolate with tones of caramel and vanilla. The oak shows up again in the finale. Carbonation provides a lightly creamy texture. The body is a bit lean for the style and half way through a 10 oz. snifter the 10% ABV does make itself known. I’m sure bottles of this would cellar very well. Overall the only knock against it is the less than full body I look for in an Imperial stout. However, it still is a damn fine sipper. Any stout lover should give this a shot.
