Pours an opaque black with a tan head. Smells of chocolate, molasses and heavy bourbon. This beer starts off in chocolate and molasses taste then the booze flavor comes straight through. This is not the most balanced beer. The flavors do not blend and meld well. It is way too heavy on the alcohol taste. It leaves a sour alcohol taste on the tongue.

Very thin tan head almost non existent. Strong Bourbon flavor. The aroma matches the color and appearance spot on. Malty, oak, Bourbon, pure deliciousness. Great sweet balanced flavor. Strong upfront alcohol taste but goes down smooth. An excellent beer.

taster last evening, poured dark brown with mocha head that dissipated quickly. the initial aroma is oak and bourbon subtle yet distinguishable. the flavor was exactly as i have remembered. nice roasted malts with that oakiness and bourbon combination that makes this beer so most. you do get some alcohol feeling in there. have imitated this one several times and do come close. but i just like this beer.

12oz bottle into tulip. Traverse city.
Appearance: dark liquid with medium tan head. Nice retention .
Aroma: vanilla, coffee, chocolate,caramel, oak.
Taste: sweet with mildly bitter finish.
Palate: full body, smooth texture. Longer finish.
Overall: a well made beer. Not as bitter as some of its cousins. More canilla and oak than chili ate bitterness. A great winter warmer.

At the lakehouse on a Tuesday night. The boat dock just fell over. so Frustrating; this is going to be expensive for the family. Pours black with almost no head, I would think a milky beer would have more head and be creamy. Aroma is thin roasted mat, dark chocolate, cocoa, lacto. Taste is nice and malty, chocolate malt, unique, some lacto notes, savory dark chocolate. Pretty damn nice on the finish.

22 oz. bottle shared with Michael. Pours black, with little to no head. The aroma is immediate bourbon notes of vanilla, oak, and toffee, with some bittersweet chocolate, . The flavor is cloyingly sweet throughout, with slight drying in the finish. Medium to heavy body, sticky, lightly carbonated, and thick. When left on the tongue, the mouthfeel is wonderfully silky and creamy. This is a delicious and sticky beer. The bourbon is very forward, but as a big fan of bourbon, that is no downside.

Beautiful Stout. Full, bourbon-fueled malty deliciousness. And potent as the Milk of a Dragon to boot.

Wow, this beer is awesome!! Ití really balanced very well. It has the flavor profile you would expect, chocolaty, slight coffee, roasted grains, slight bourbon flavor and some oak. The best thing is even with all those flavors not one is to overpowering to dominate the beer. You would also be surprised to hear it is 10% abv if you did not know prior to tasting it. Very little alcohol flavor or heat. This is a must must try.
