Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown color with a small off-white head. Nose definitely has some chocolate elements to it with just a hint of the spiciness. Taste is roasty and slightly chocolatey and very inviting. Really tasty beer.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Mittenator (453) - Michigan, USA - MAR 20, 2013
Draft at Harrison Roadhouse (from backlog). I am not a big fan of mole. That being said, I really didn't like this. Odd spices fighting with one another. A four ounce flight pour was too much.

On tap at Cincinnati Winter Beer Fest (CWBF) 2013. Mostly clear but reddish / brown color. Spicy toasty flavor, with a weird vegetal flavor. Decent lace. Odd bitter, weird spiciness. Smooth carbonation, bigger body. Kind of creamy texture. More dry. Not my favorite flavor, but I can’t help but be interested in this. Very unique.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 magsinva (602) - Virginia, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Bottle 2011 vintage from App Vintner - pours dark clear red with a tan head. Aroma really opens up as it warms, with notes of chocolate, malt, and chilies. Taste is sweet with a thin mouth feel. Overall, I like it, though I wish it had a bit more body to balance the nice chile chocolate thing it has going on.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Patrickctenchi (1687) - columbus, Indiana, USA - DEC 31, 2012
Clear, red-brown with tan head.
Scent is raw chocolate, malt.
Taste is malty, lightly chile spice.
Interesting, but nothing overtly spectacular....
Fairly complex, but muted, a little sticky.
OK.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jkwood04 (2291) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 28, 2012
22oz bottle in an English pint. Pours darker brown with a beige head. Aroma of mole and herbs, some darker malts, and floral hops. Flavor has a weird blend that’s not for me. Average texture. An interesting beer but a weird one.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 cbfobes (1674) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 28, 2012
On tap at Dexters, pours a clear dark red bown with an off white head, the aroma was way sweeter than what I was expecting with a ton of malt, the flavor is of malt and toffee with a little bit of spices from the chilies in the finish, a little fruit comes through as well, pretty different but nothing I would seek down again.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 superspak (1478) - Michigan, USA - DEC 18, 2012
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, 2011 vintage at 8.4%. Gusher upon opening, but doesn’t seem infected. Pours fairly clear mahogany color with a small 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of roasted coffee, chiles, chocolate, toast, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and light smokiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity; very nice blend and balance of the coffee and chili counterparts. Taste of caramel, chocolate, coffee, chile skins, toffee, cocoa, toast, brown sugar, light smoke, and earthiness. Minimal spicy heat on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, chocolate, coffee, chile skin, toffee, toast, cocoa, brown sugar, and earth on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice flavor balance and complexity; all flavors meld together nearly perfectly; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy and fairly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice chile beer! Great balance and complexity of all flavors; and very smooth to sip on. I really enjoyed this one.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 stoltemik (12) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 3, 2012
A dark brown colored earthy and roasted smelling beer. Has a medium body with sweet yet dry malty taste. This beer has a lot going on and is still very drinkable. Overall a very good interesting beer.
