Commercial Description:
Consider it an extremely hoppy barleywine, or a really big IPA. Either way, ten hop additions contribute to its lush and intriguing body. Aggressive dry-hopping brings a strong citrus character to the aroma. The flavor and smell of orange-blossoms pervade throughout the experience.
Ingredience:Water,Barley(200 pounds per barrel of American-grown malted barley),Hops(10 hop-strikes,totaling 17 ounces per barrel of American-grown hops) and yeast(it is what it is).

Molasses and old hops on the nose. Pours a dark golden amber. Citrus hops with heavy malts, i taste some age on it, i’d say more of the barley wine is coming out. Good beer though.

Foggy honey brown. Frothy head leaving nice lacing. Lacking in aroma but some hops. Medium bodied, nice piny bitterness. Hoped more like an IPA than a barley wine. Good.

Bottle pours a crystal clear red amber with a small head leaving a lace ring and decent lace. The aroma is hops. The flavor is full on hop resin with a monster malt backbone, almost vineous. The palate is rich and somewhat still. The alcohol is well hidden. This is a monster brew that is well constructed. I like it well enough.

Re-Rate. Fresh 2008 bottle. Same as before but with nice subtle citrus and flower hops. Flavor is still wonderful and sticky sweet but with a little orange candy. Full bodied and oily flat. Very good fresh, much better than when aged. Go figure. [ (Old Rating) 8/3/8/3/17=3.9 Vintage unknown but at least a year or two. Nice malt, caramel, honey and dried fruit. Sweet and sticky. Very good brew but not the hoppy experience I was led to believe. Oily flat and full bodied. Hopps have subsided and have turned lovely and complex. ]

a little light bodied for a barleywine, flavor is pretty mellow, not agressivly hoppy or malty. aroma is piney/citrusy.

Bomber: Aroma of sweet citrus and pine needles, hops are definitely present in this brew. The malt characteristic is drowned out by the hops, but a slight back end of malt comes slipping through the brew. Pours a translucent amber color with a thin soapy white film at the top of the glass. Taste is got a really weird mixture of the citrus hops and a more punchier malt note. Some definite almost juicy fruit flavor on the back end. Palate is light with a thick pine lighty coating the tongue. Overall, Strange for a Barley Wine. Hop wine? or IIPA? It’s alright just really hard to put my finger on this one. Cheers!

Bottle with a 10.5%ABV. Small off-white head that mostly diminshes, spotty amounts of lacing, slightly hazy, soft, slow rising carbonation noted, and an amber hue. Nose was citrus, hoppy, pine, malty, and some oranges. Flavor was malty, some caramel, hoppy but not overly so, pine, sweet, oranges and finishes dry. Smooth, dry mouthfeel and medium in body. Quaffable, easy to drink given the style and ABV and worthy of a try.
