Commercial Description:
Consider it an extremely hoppy barleywine, or a really big IPA. Either way, ten hop additions contribute to its lush and intriguing body. Aggressive dry-hopping brings a strong citrus character to the aroma. The flavor and smell of orange-blossoms pervade throughout the experience.
Ingredience:Water,Barley(200 pounds per barrel of American-grown malted barley),Hops(10 hop-strikes,totaling 17 ounces per barrel of American-grown hops) and yeast(it is what it is).

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Hazy amber, small head. Salty grapefruity aroma. Full bodied with lots of chewy, caramelly malt, as well as citroc hops and alcohol. Full flavoured and very hoppy. Bready and sweaty. Salty very bitter finish. Powerful, yet not brash.

Great looking barleywine. Light orange/amber with good clarity and a two finger head that hangs around. Nose- Sweet grains and some pine. Taste- very sweet but not too cloying. Hops attack the palate on the back end in a really nice way. Grains are toasty and lively. The finish is quite dry from the hops and cleans away the initial honey like sweetness. Not picking up much alcohol which is nice. Excellent barleywine/american strong ale.

Hmm, i thought it was an IIPA. Nice big hops in the nose and flavor. Probably shouldve drank it a couple months ago, but still very good. Nice flowery smell, with a caramel-y texture in the taste. This was awesome.

Color is primarily amber with a medium head. Aroma of this guy has alot of citrus, cantaloupe, and some floral earthiness. Flavor is a bit off at first - kind of like an Old Guardian gone bad, but it eventually works and got a bit better as it warmed and I paired it with some Chicken sausage. Mouthfeel is tingly with some alcohol taste/feel. Overall I’m disappointed as the hopped-uppedness is just a mess. They could have made a good DIPA, Barleywine, or somewhat different American Strong, but they kind of fell into no-mans land. OK, but should be better.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Amber colour with a long-lasting sticky white foam. Sweet aroma of flowers, caramel and honey with touches of pepper and spicy alcohol. Full-bodied with a clean mouthfeel. Caramel, honey, melon, brown sugar and garpefruit in the flavour. Medium bitter and warming finish of spices, caramel, pears, grass and grapefruit.

Deep orange colored beer with a sticky off white head that left lots of lacing. The alcohol is big in the nose, as is the noticable green hops. Big caramel sweetness, piney hops, grapefruit rind, toffee, alcohol and some orange juice. I did not know the style when I opened it, and my first thought was "hoppy barley wine" and that’s what it is.

Bottle sampled on 6/30/07: Pours a transparent orange amber with a spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of grainy toasty pale malt with some piny English hops and a touch of grapefruit. Body starts semi-sweet and slightly caramely with a powerful bittering hop presence and warming alcohol toward a drier black peppery finish.

Poured a creamy dark amber color with very nice off white head. Head was very persistant and created abundant lacing. Aromas were a little muddled, citrusy and caramely, not overpowering. The flavor was odd, actually cloying, with a muddled sweet caramel, biscuit, dry flower flavor...it tasted almost like it wasn’t quite fresh. It carried a strange taste througout, and the "hops" aren’t quite prevelant like it leads you to believe. Rather it gives it a resinous mouthfeel, without the punch. The only positive is that it covered up the alcohol quite good, but the flavors were way off.
