Clear, amber red body with a long-lasting creamy almond head. Medium alcohol and earthy hops in the flavour with sweet barley wine characteristics. Medium-full body does not hide the booze. Better cooler when the temperature can hide all that extra alcohol. adrian910ss (1410), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Bottle... Hazy amber ale with a small, creamy, white head and decent retention. The nose is perfumey orange blossoms, but also chock full of cotton candy and caramel. Red hot, bitter, train wreck of caramel and grapefruit pith flavor. All over the place with bitter and sweet notes; a sticky mess. Full-bodied and syrupy with soft carbonation. Lengthy, bittersweet finish with a pinch of salt at the wee end. If I had another bottle, I let it sit for a few more years to see if things start to mesh. Kudos to dra19 for shipping the bottle to me! drewbeerme (2272), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 26, 2007 pours slightly hazed copper with small off white head. nose is hoppy but not very fresh smelling and caramel. flavor is really sweet with flabby hop presence that sorta goes every where. really lacks an idea of what it wants to be. and new holland again screws up.
