COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Consider it an extremely hoppy barleywine, or a really big IPA. Either way, ten hop additions contribute to its lush and intriguing body. Aggressive dry-hopping brings a strong citrus character to the aroma. The flavor and smell of orange-blossoms pervade throughout the experience.
Ingredience:Water,Barley(200 pounds per barrel of American-grown malted barley),Hops(10 hop-strikes,totaling 17 ounces per barrel of American-grown hops) and yeast(it is what it is).

Sampled at the 2nd annual Michigan Winter Beer Festival, Lansing. Ruddy orange body, thin off-white head. Aroma and body dominated by a big swirl of caramels and sweet breads, punctuated by slightly faded but still potent citrusy hops. Leathery and salty notes also present. Good heft. I would have pegged this as an aged Imperial IPA, but the malts are heavy. A touch of oxidation wasn’t too distracting.

Draught at the brew pub. Advertised as 10% ABV. Clear copper color with thin offf white head that left a little bit of lace on the glass. Flowery, perfumy hop aroma with a whiff of alcohol. Sweet on the tongue with lots of alcohol flavor that mingles with toffee and molasses. Slick mouth feel.

GABF 2006. Gold bodied. Nose is hoppy and citrus laden with some sweet malts and candied fruits. Taste packs on more citrus notes and hops with some sweet creamy maltiness. Body is medium-full with some sticky notes and dense carbonation. Bit of slickness in spots as well. Ends with more hops, citrus peels, and caramel.
