Commercial Description:
Consider it an extremely hoppy barleywine, or a really big IPA. Either way, ten hop additions contribute to its lush and intriguing body. Aggressive dry-hopping brings a strong citrus character to the aroma. The flavor and smell of orange-blossoms pervade throughout the experience.
Ingredience:Water,Barley(200 pounds per barrel of American-grown malted barley),Hops(10 hop-strikes,totaling 17 ounces per barrel of American-grown hops) and yeast(it is what it is).

Pours a thick deep amber brown with a almost nonexistent medium beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, heavy caramel, floral, bread and light grapefruit. Flavor is bread, pine, grapefruit, some orange, light grape and more caramel. Sticky texture, full body. Alcohol somewhat apparent.

Noted last May 2008, 22 oz bottle: Hazy orange amber w/ a short lived off white head. Piney, grapefrui, and pineapple hops up front and very pungent. Also a bit soapy. Caramel and toasted malts, and an odd papery aroma. Strange, because this was a pretty fresh bottle. Fruity aromas domanated by hops, and a woodsy type aroma. The flavor mimics the aroma with hops being strong and dominant. Slightly resiny and biting (bitter) with a decent toasty and caramel malt to help balance, but the malts fall short. Seems to start out slightly sweet, then finishes lightly bitter, then turns noticeably bitter in the aftertaste, which is all hops. Toasted malt comes in between the last sip and the next. Warming m/f, lightly hot if you will, medium full body, smooth texture, and a low CO2. Very hop dominant, and the malts keep the beer from being completely one dimension. Average IIPA in my mind.

Thanks to RagallachMC for the bomber. Clear orange/amber with a thin wisp of a head. Aroma of caramel, toffee and piney hops. Some apricot and citrus hops also in the taste, as well as some floral/honey sweetness. Mostly dry flavor, overall. A big, brash, American hop clinic. Not bad at all, but nothing amazing.

Pours dark amber small white head. Fruity aroma almost sherry like with light fruits like pears and apples. Sweet taste with all kinds of barley wine flavors dark fruits, raisons, apples, pears, slight citrus hops but more on the bitterness than actual flavor and aroma, big caramel sweetness throughout that really dominates. Sweet caramel, fruits and hop bitterness is this beer. It’s alright but nothing special.

Bottle courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Pours a clear copper witha small white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of floral and citrus hops with sweet malt and a touch of caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. Very good.

22 oz bottle. Lightly hazy amber with a light head. Sweet metallic caramel aroma. Alcohol and citrus with honey. Good. The flavor has caramel and marshmallow with metallic hints. There is alcohol, pine and pineapple citrus. It’s really a very odd flavor combination and kind of muddled but still enjoyable. Full malty sticky body. A fair brew. Strong and flavorful if just a bit odd and messy.

Pours a brownish-amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of caramel, plums, citrus and pine hops, and a little bit of alcohol. Flavor starts off with the caramel and plums that give way to a slightly hoppy finish with some alcohol warming. Pretty thick on the palate and it has a lingering bitterness at the end. I would consider this a double IPA and not a barley wine. Decent but not the best.
