3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours cloudy orange copper with a modest beige head and a fruity barnyard aroma. There is a hearty pale malt flavor with an earthy bitter finish. Nicely balanced and quite tasty.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle. Light amber color with an off white head. Has a faint floral aroma with hints of yeast and citrus. Subtle tart citrus flavor with a little of that funky farmhouse yeast mixed in. Contains a mellow, sour aftertaste. Soft carbonation with a somewhat creamy texture. Enjoyable brew. I liked how none of the flavors were over the top.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours orange with a tiny white ring. Smells funky and a bit like flowers. Taste is funky and mildly bitter. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and mild mouth-carbonation, New Holland farmhouse Hatter finishes with some bitterness and a touch of funk.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Serving: 22 oz. bottle from Fire Works Leesburg. It pours a nice gold color with a sizeable white head. The nose has yeast, orange, and grapefruit notes. The flavor has a touch of funky farmhouse character combined with the citrus, yeast, and malt notes. Light and easy on the palate with a pretty clean finish. Not half bad.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
American IPA meets Belgian yeast. High alpha hops shine through in the aroma. Belgian esters shine through shaving off some of the harsh edges on the hop bite. Pretty dark amber with sticky lacing. Nice long finish that see-saws between maltiness, hop bite, and some farmhouse tartness.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Good sized frothy white head of varying sized bubbles. Lots of floral notes in the aroma. Jasmine and roses along with some light grainy malts, spices and earthy aromas Color is a dark copper. Flavor is a bit dry and chalky with considerable bitterness from the hops. More earthy flavors, some bitter orange and spicy yeast. Light alcohol presence. Not really detecting any of the farmhouse "funk" that the brew claims. Spicy, dry, earthy, bitter, chalky, everything you would expect in a melding of these two styles.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
2012 bomber pours a clear orange with a big off-white head but practically no lacing. Smells like an IPA. Aroma is quite different: lemon, yeast, and white grapes. Tastes like a sour Belgian with a long dry finish Body is at best medium without too much carbonation. I’ve enjoyed some other New Holland "Hatters" in this series, but this is my least favorite so far. I probably will not try it again.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a bomber into a brandy snifter. 2012 vintage otherwise no bottle date. Pours with a lot of fizzy head but little lacing. Mildly funky, hippy and tart aroma. Mouthfeel is very light with too much carbonation. Taste is lemon, funk, grassy hops, Belgian taste, cedar and clay. You know, this could have been a great beer. Ultimately, it just doesn't have enough flavor. It is kinda like seltzer water flavored like a good beer.
