Mad hatter mixed with some Belgian yeast, it isn’t too bad, but not mindblowing.

On tap at the brewpub. Deep yellow with a white head and some lacing. Yeasty and spicey taste, some sourness. Yeasty aroma. Average mouthfeel. Drying. Fine for style, although I was not a big fan of it.

Bottle… Hazy orange ale with a huge, rocky, white head. Fantastic retention. The uber fruity aroma is quite simply a terrific medley of tropical and fuzzy fruits. Medium-bodied with modest carbonation. Outstanding balance is provided by equal amounts of fruity bitterness, sweet maltiness and fruity-bready yeastiness. Just a touch of saison yeast spiciness here. Finishes lightly fruity with lingering, gentle bitterness. Bottle courtesy of dmschefke!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap. Poured clear gold with a white head that dissipated, but left a nice lace while it lasted. Aroma was mainly sweet grains with a bit of biscuit and hay and just a hint of underlying floral notes. The flavor had more floral with the sweet grains that mainly had a biscuit note.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle, 2012 vintage. Clear amber color, thin white head. Nice lighter but soft carbonation, classic farmhouse texture. Light tart and mildy zesty flavor, light bitter. Light citrus peel. Nice spicy hop aroma, just a little funk, not over the top, and easy to drink and nice to enjoy with my Subway.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Paradiso Dupont. Possibly the best beer ever brewed by New Holland- either intentionally or unintentionally Brett infected with great dryness and complexity.
Pours significantly better than the other beers on tap today with a massive, rocky beige head that leaves full sheets of lace. Nose is sugary peach, fresh tangerine, and a good wallop of fresh spearmint. Floral Brett and sweaty funk come through in the nose. Taste is very dry and extremely effervescent with sharp cedar and mild acid. Full doughy malt and biscuit comes in the background for malt backbone. Excellent stuff. Sort of like an Orval clone.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from Capone’s. Pours turbid orangy copper with 2-finger frothy off-white head. Nose is yeasty funky spice, orange marmaladey citrus fruit, hops. Tastes dry, citric, with orange zest, spice, florals. Fairly complex and stays dry throughout. Smells sweet, tastes dry and floral and hoppy. Nicely done.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at New Holland on our way to RBSG. Pours a clear gold, a little watery looking, with a thin white head. Fuzzy hops, a bit of musk. Weird sweet plastic falvors, tingly odd flavors to it. Long bitter f inish, something off here, but I’m not sure what.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at Happy Gnome. Clear golden pour with a white clingy head. Soft farmhouse funk, palate is a touch bland. Just okay.
