On tap. Poured clear gold with a white head that dissipated, but left a nice lace while it lasted. Aroma was mainly sweet grains with a bit of biscuit and hay and just a hint of underlying floral notes. The flavor had more floral with the sweet grains that mainly had a biscuit note.

Sampler at the brewpub (Holland, MI). Missed this last time in town. Pours a crisp clean golden yellow, a decent whitish head that dies to a smaller film, clinging to the edges. Good lacing. Aromas are a bit fruity, some light esters and some citrus mix with bready malts, pretty light overall. Initial is medium bodied with a pretty big dose of Belgian yeast, apples and pears right off the bat moving into bread and a telltale Belgian yeasty spice. Vanilla, a touch of clove, orange peel and light florals provide a light bitterness. Sweet up front with lingering fruits, a touch of sweetness. Pretty fruity, restrained bitterness. Quite flavorful, not overly sweet as expected. Dry, a touch of honey, fruity esters, more orange and floral slanted hoppiness. Not bad

Bomber from Sam’s, Durham. Moderately cloudy amber pour, initially quite a frothy head (bottle was a lil’ gusher) but settles into nearly nothing carb-wise. Strongly fruity aroma, sour apple and apricot along with the mildest of funk. Body is a bit watery, fading quickly much like the carbonation. Flavors are bready, occasionally a bit sweet, and plenty of bright, semi-tart fruits.

Bottle; Pour is murky golden with an overly carbonated, pillow top off white head that retains on the average side, I suppose into this tulip. Sticky cobwebs are present as lacing as well. The nose is lemons and grassy h ops, a touch of tropical fruits, and there is an earthy quality present here as well. The flavor profile shares those qualities, yet it is also bitter initially, and it finishes quite dry on the tongue. Almost annoyingly so - Anyway - this wasn’t bad by any means

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, Belgian yeast, lots of spice, coriander, light peach, citrus, grain, and nectar. Poured amber/orange/gold in color with a medium-sized, off-white head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Hazy. Sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of grains, hops, spice, pepper, light citrus, light fruit, yeast, and some herbs. Light to medium body. Tingly, then dry texture. Average to lively carbonation. Lightly sweet, medium bitter, hop, Belgian yeast, light fruit, pepper finish is dry.

gyllenbock (4560) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 12, 2012
Bottle bought at Whole Foods Market - P Street (Washington DC) in October 2011. Amber with a medium, quite creamy head. The aroma was ok with lemon, some yeast, hops and perfume. The taste was not as good, the beer felt a bit old. Still drinkable.

22 oz. bottle from 2012 courtesy of agl108. A murky rust pour with tons of chunky floaties and a massive meringue-like head that leaves plenty of lacing behind. The aroma is funky and sour, almost to the point that I suspect it may be infected. Kumquats, zesty citrus rinds, lemon juice, wheat, and yeast feature in the aroma. Thin to medium-bodied on the way down. Caramel and a sweet cereal graininess upfront taste-wise. Some juicy citrus flavors and zesty rinds at the bitter/dry end. Yeasty. Mineral water-like. Meh.
