As the story goes, the charm of the Cap hails an otherwise mischievous band of winged-monkeys to carry out any three commands its owner wishes, such as carrying you from vast scarlet poppy fields to Emerald City, or even to the comfort of a country farmhouse. Golden Cap Saison however, brings the comfort to you with its modern interpretation of a traditional farmhouse ale. A soft, pale beer, Golden Cap accentuates the flavors and aromas of summer fields. Brewed with an ancestor to wheat called spelt, and bottle-conditioned; it's straw-colored body accentuated with lively carbonation and unique fermentation profile evoke fresh cut hay and cracked peppercorns. Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke! Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo! Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik!

Draft at Blue Dust. Good summer brew. Pours cloudy, hazy golden color, aroma of citrus and wheat. Highly carbonated, hints of banana and pepper flavors, light bodied, slight bitter finish. Clean, crisp brew.

I had this a few years back and it was phenolic and sticky. This year a friend recommended it and then gave me a couple bottles. The aroma is hay and citric with a touch of poopy diaper. Flavors include spice and a light non lingering sweetness. Mouthfeel is a bit slick like a trad farmhouse. Light acidity brings it all to life. Much, much better than I remember it.

Pours clear golden. Nice lingering head. Real nice looking. Aroma is lightly spiced and of corn. Light hop bite, spicy flavor as well. Finishes quick and clean. Hint of sour/Bret as well which is nice. Very light flavor that hides the 7% alc well. Nice work.

12 oz. bottle. Pours yellow golden with a medium sized white head. The aroma has pepper, yeast, some spices, light fruit and floral hops. The flavor is sweet, peppery, grassy, biscuits with some doughy yeast. Nothing overly special here.

Not much to report with this one; a fairly straightforward saison with no memorable characteristics. Not bad, but nothing special.

Pours hazy yellow gold with a thin white head. Smells floral and yeasty. Tastes blank on the front...but the back end reveals...hay? I dunno...this one is confusing. It is a fine brew, but as far as saisons go...this would be on the low end.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of malt , orange peel, clove and spice. This is the second saison I’ve tried with both radically different. Cloudy gold, white head. The orange / spice overtake the malt, giving this a nice bitter flavor. Dry refreshing feel - more carbonated than usual. A slight honey note as well. Well done.
