As the story goes, the charm of the Cap hails an otherwise mischievous band of winged-monkeys to carry out any three commands its owner wishes, such as carrying you from vast scarlet poppy fields to Emerald City, or even to the comfort of a country farmhouse. Golden Cap Saison however, brings the comfort to you with its modern interpretation of a traditional farmhouse ale. A soft, pale beer, Golden Cap accentuates the flavors and aromas of summer fields. Brewed with an ancestor to wheat called spelt, and bottle-conditioned; it's straw-colored body accentuated with lively carbonation and unique fermentation profile evoke fresh cut hay and cracked peppercorns. Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke! Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo! Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik!

12 oz. bottle. Pours yellow golden with a medium sized white head. The aroma has pepper, yeast, some spices, light fruit and floral hops. The flavor is sweet, peppery, grassy, biscuits with some doughy yeast. Nothing overly special here.

Not much to report with this one; a fairly straightforward saison with no memorable characteristics. Not bad, but nothing special.

Pours hazy yellow gold with a thin white head. Smells floral and yeasty. Tastes blank on the front...but the back end reveals...hay? I dunno...this one is confusing. It is a fine brew, but as far as saisons go...this would be on the low end.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of malt , orange peel, clove and spice. This is the second saison Iíve tried with both radically different. Cloudy gold, white head. The orange / spice overtake the malt, giving this a nice bitter flavor. Dry refreshing feel - more carbonated than usual. A slight honey note as well. Well done.

Moderate aroma and active dirty yellow pour with a balanced taste and simple mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle at the globe. Pours a clear yellow body with a medium white head. Aroma of herbs, grass, pineapple, subtle barnyard, and citrus. Flavor of lemon, grass, pepper, and florals.

Bottle to a duvel tulip. Pours a mostly clear golden yellow with a 2 inch foamy white head and little lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast, coriander, and banana. Taste is banana, yeast, apple, and some sweet white table wine. Thin mouthfeel with kind of high carbonation. Pretty good.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2013 Your classic Belgian saison yeast with a dash of citrus. Crisp, solid flavors, lighter than Boulevardís high alcohol saison. Nicely done.

Bottle at Binnyís promotional event. I hand it to New Holland for brewing a light and refreshing summer beer that has some kick, but is still gentle about it. Itís a very pale and bubbly yellow, which made me brace for blandness. Instead, this is a very smooth and slightly spiced farmhouse ale. Itís nothing extraordinary, but itís very solid, enjoyable, flavorful as a farmhouse ale should be, and crisp - all good for hot summers. This is a great beer for a mid-range price.

Pours a fantastic golden color. Aroma is filled with lemon notes and other fruits. The taste has a ton of flavor and quite a bit of bitterness throughout. Finishes nice. A great beer for a hot summer day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
