3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerBeforeH20 (46) - Minnesota, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Decent IPA, has a great color and mouthfeel but falls somewhat short in the aroma and taste departments. Was really expecting more pinkeye and citrusy notes with the claims of extra fresh hops being used in this brew. Would not buy again in bottle but I would like to try it on tap and taste the difference.

An orange amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, biscuit malt with green hops, floral, light dough notes. In mouth, a nice caramel with grassy floral hops, green and fresh, nice. On tap at Iron Monkey, Dec. 31 2012.

From bottle. Pours deep amber in color. Aroma was dark fruit, earthy, grassy and piney hops. Taste followed but drank like an Imperial. Good malt balance. Was looking for more in your face hop! May be bottle age?

Bottle. Copper color, off white head. Assertive hop aroma and bitterness in the taste... Fresh hops moderate and make refreshing. Very good beer

Pours a clear brownish amber with a tan head. Aroma of darker malt and hops. Taste is mildly sweet with strong peppery bitterness. Nicely balanced strong hops, but tempered nicely.

The best thing I can say about this beer is that it is infinitesimally better than average. Pours brown with a dark red hue and is topped off with a decent head. The beer is virtually scentless other than faint traces of alcohol. It is thin with a mild effervescence. It tastes incredibly bland, especially considering that it incorporates the word "hop" into its name. Would only drink this again in the most dire of beer situations.
