3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Garbageman (356) - Lexington, South Carolina, USA - JAN 21, 2013
From bottle. Pours deep amber in color. Aroma was dark fruit, earthy, grassy and piney hops. Taste followed but drank like an Imperial. Good malt balance. Was looking for more in your face hop! May be bottle age?

bottle - Pours light amber-orange with a very small head. It smells of earthy hops and some background malt. The flavor is earthy, grassy hops with moderate bitterness and maybe a touch of pine. There’s some lingering bitterness in the finish. This is a solid IPA but don’t expect a citrus heavy west coast style brew. These are fresh Michigan hops.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 86Moose (33) - - NOV 13, 2011
Strong hoppy aroma, not overpowering though. Appearance was clear orange with frothy white head. Very good taste, medium bitter. Palate medium body, average carbonation. Enjoyed a very good beer. Not as hoppy as I expected though. Hoptober and Hophead much stronger hops.
3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 BeerSquare (114) - - NOV 10, 2012
I don’t remember liking this beer very much when I first tried it a couple years ago, but I have definitely enjoyed it this year.
The hop notes have an interesting subtle, earthiness to them that, together with the substantial malty backbone really make this a thick, complex beer. The slightly bittersweet and sour finish lasts quite some time.
Nose is especially notable-- really great earthy floral smells. I also like that they got such impressive, champagney carbonation in a meaty harvest ale.
Good beer (this time around)

Pours clear copper with a beige soapy head. The aroma has toasty malt, earthy / spicy hops, must and light fruit. Not very hoppy for a fresh hop beer called Hopivore. Medium / full body that’s smooth and rich with semi-sharp assertive carbonation. The flavor is fairly rich with hearty caramel toasty malt and a decent amount of green hops with dry grapefruit, earth and spice. The finish is resiny, spicy and earthy. A well balanced fresh hop ale, but I was hoping for more of a hop forward beer.

bright fresh citrus hop aroma for a few seconds, dissipates fast to a balanced orangy tangy malty aroma flavor is at first a bitter creamsicle, this fades into a hop bitter grainey flavor, nice enough not good enough for a 4pack premium price

Reddish copper, rocky beige head. Very earthy, piney aroma. Pine and spruce dominates the flavor, as well. Some graham cracker and caramel in the background. Oddly watery mouthfeel, though.
