Sampled at a Mead, Cider, and Beer Tasting sponsored by Binny’s Beverage Depot in Glen Ellyn, IL. Poured to my wine/sampler glass a hazy, golden amber with modest, off white foam and lacing. The aroma was pumpkin and perfumy pie spice with nutmeg and maybe ginger high lighted. The flavor was much the same with some cinnamon showing up and the presence of some low, hop bitterness. Medium to light bodied. A standard pumpkin ale.

12oz bottle. Pours a light brown color with a small fluffy off white head. Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, and a little bit of caramel. Taste is pumpkin, cinnamon, a tiny bit of hop bitterness, followed by a mellow caramel aftertaste.

Bottle (from backlog). Pours golden with an orangish hue. Slight pumpkin and spice aroma. Bland and spicy flavors if that makes sense. The background spices were distracting on the palate.

It’s hard for me to rate this one. Difficult for me to give it an accurate review for whatever reason... I can easily understand the 78/90 discrepancy on this site between us and the "Bros". Appearance: Really looks nice. A mildly hazy orange color. The head’s creamy, but doesn’t last long. Regardless, the lacing is fantastic on this beer. Smell: Just what you’d expect from a quality pumpkin ale. The pumpkin, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Some malts as well, but the pumpkin pie aroma is most dominant. Taste/feel: This is where it gets difficult to me. It’s not exploding with flavor, but it’s extremely drinkable in every way. There’s essentially no bitterness. The pumpkin and spice is there, but not overwhelmingly. The feel puts all of this together. Velvety smooth with a pretty low carbonation. It’s as if I want more flavor, but at the same time, I don’t. Tough call. A fantastic pumpkin ale right here. Ichabod gets it right. If you want a sessionable pumpkin beer, you’ve got it.

Pours a clear, medium brown color with a very slight head. Scent is quite weak with mostly sweet malts and a slight pumpkin spice hint. Taste is rather weak in pumpkin flavors. I’m mostly getting malts and some spices for the taste. The texture is rather smooth and full however, making for great drinking. I think in a blind taste test I would actually thing this was an Oktoberfest beer and not a pumpkin ale. Kind of disappointing as I was expecting more.

Very nice floral and malt aroma, with hints of cinnamon and other spices. The label refers to the wonderful Legend of Sleepy Hollow, which is as enjoyable to read or listen to as it was 200 years ago. This is surprisingly dry for a pumpkin ale, not as rich as some, but that helps make it interesting. There are subtle notes of pumpkin and nutmeg. A nice one.

Gold brown beer with short head. Musty cinnamon snd nutmeg aroma. Obvious pumpkin with noticable bitterness on the tongue. Not bad, not great.

Pumpkin pie in a beer...this was a surprising rich flavor but yet still had all the characteristics of a quality dark beer.

Decent beer, light aroma and palate, Flava is balanced tween cinnamon and hops, finishes long and dry hoppy

This poured a dark amber color with a beige head. Aroma was of metal, cinnamon, light pumpkin and caramel malt. Flavor was lightly toasted, pumpkin spices and light pumpkin flesh and a bit of an off astringency. Ok.
