My first pumpkin ale and I hope there are better out there. Not that it is bad, but I was hoping for more.

Not bad! Good smooth medium-thick body. Creamy mouthfeel. Nice hints of pumpkin, cinnamon, and perhaps some clove. Not bitter at all. Lightly sweet.

Bottle: Dingy copper color with a slightly beige head on top that wisps away before long to a thin collar. Aroma is very weak. Grainy, light pumpkin spice, nutmeg, maybe some cinnamon. Not as clove or ginger heavy as other autumn spiced beers, but the spice here is almost *too* light. Some bready malt. Taste is a little metallic, grainy, & full of toasted biscuit. Light nutmeg & cinnamon, but kind of watery on the palate & a little astringent in the finish. Pretty mediocre pumpkin beer. Just way, way too light.

Poured from bottle a dark foggy amber with a thin white head. Aroma is rich with notes of the nutmeg and cinnamon. These spices are easily detectable with each sip of this malty ale, that is light and easy on the way down. Overpowering the key notes of pumpkin.

Orange pour. Nose of allspice, cinnamon, fruity pumpkin and light caramel. Flavor is lightly sweet malt with fruity pumpkin and finishing with a crisp cinnamon spice. Lingering spice and pumpkin. Light, nice.

Tap. Clean amber gold. Creamy white head. Bam - allspice on the nose. Pure spice. Eck. Taste is water with autumn spices liberally added. Possible malt. Why do I do this to myself?

Transfer from BA review on 10-3-12- Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass Appearance – Served a golden-orange colored brew with a one finger off white head. The head fades rather fast to leave a moderate amount of lacing Smell – The aroma is malty with a good strong pumpkin smell. Mixed with these are pie spice aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg, and some allspice. While pumpkin pie like, the aroma is actually more on the savory side with the sweet smell being on the lower side. Taste – The taste begins with a malt backbone and a heavy sweetened pumpkin flavor. While not detected much in the nose, the sweetness is mainly brown sugar in nature. Spice flavors are upfront in the taste, but actually grown stronger more toward the middle. Cinnamon and nutmeg overpower at the start, but are then matched by some clove and allspice toward the middle and the end of the taste. These flavors bring the taste to the end leaving a medium robust spiced pumpkin pie flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was on the medium side with a higher level of carbonation. While making it somewhat more refreshing, a slight decline in the carbonation would have suited the pumpkin and spice flavors better. Overall – Not too bad. Not overly sweet and it had a decent flavor and feel profile. Worth a try.

Alright, I guess I’ll say something about this considering I haven’t said anything about this until now. Hmmm.....here goes. Yes, this is reviewed from notes from over 2 years ago, sue me. I’ve poured this into a pint glass practically every time. The appearance was a nice semi-dark to light orange to brown color-ed body with a nice less than a half fingered white foamy head that died extremely quickly. Lacing, hmmm...what lacing, there wasn’t any. The smell had a nice cinnamon to ginger spiced somewhat pumpkin-esque sort of spiciness trying to let a semi-decent maltiness to come about it. Does it? Hmmm....Not really, but still good for the most part. The taste, hmmm....well, its a fairly good spicy to sweet to a light hoppy bitterness combining and coming all about into itself. On the palate, it sat at/about a fairly light to medium on the body leading into a decent sessionable quality and having a fairly good carbonation running about its body. Overall, for the most part, I’d say this was a good Pumpkin Ale that I’d have again as it had everything I was looking for.

Clear copper pour, ok head, head retention, light lace. Ok, I hated this beer at first but after cellaring the soy sauce tastes seemed to mellow. Aroma is ok but still a bit soy saucey, maybe even like smoked bacon a bit but more like smoked soy sauce. Its in taste even as well, and I remember now I compared it to beef jerky,it still tastes like this in a not so good way. Has some caramel sweetness otherwise, light spices. Not great.
