3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewpub: Cloudy amber pour with frothy white head. Very intense pine and citrus nose...PNW dry-hopping all the way. And obviously the pine, tangerine, and grapefruit overwhelm the tastebuds as well, but lurking deep down below I think I detected a touch of caramel and biscuit dough...at least Iím going to say I did because the alternative is to admit that I have finally gone to the irredeemable extreme of just enjoying having my tonsils scorched... and balance be damned! The texture is very lush and creamy...a totally satisfying IIPA. In summary, this new New Holland brew left my tulips smiling.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very lightly hazed amber to bronze colored liquid. Taller, diminishing head, that settles to a finger of dense beige bubbles. Some small isle of lace. Citric and pine aromas overtake the nose. Slightly grassy and mowed weed if inhaled to strongly. Bits of caramel and malt lurk in the background. Thicker feel, with enough zip ot keep it lively. Pine and caramel in the start. Herbal hops work their way into the middle and finish, with wintergreen and light licorice. Seems a bit to edgy at times, with the spice, but still a decent quaff. Wish the flavors matched the scent a bit closer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Lightly cloudy copper body, frothy off-white head. Aroma is citrus a bit of evergreen. A good malt backbone carries the truckload of hops swishing down towards the gullet. Crisp refreshing palate, alcohol subdued. Quite enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Binnyís Beverage Depot in Orland Park, Illinois: This poured an orange/amber body with a medium-sized head. The aroma had pungent pine, grapefruit rind, lemon zest, and a whiff or two of toffee beneath those hop scents. The flavor has a caramel/toffee sweetness on the bottom, but is totally dominated by the hop tastes and bitterness. Nicely lop-sided, this has a dry and prolonged bitter finish. Nice.

3.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Reddish amber color with a modest head. Full, smooth malt body with above average sweetness. Hop aroma and taste were sub-par.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours copper with an off-white smallish head. The aroma has lots of floral hops with some funk and is balanced with lots of creamy caramel malt. Thick body with a good amount of semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts much like the aroma with even more malt - seems like like and IIPA and more like a barleywine. There is some sourness in there as well. The beer gets hotter as it warms up. A fair IIPA.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Copper colored pour with a small, frothy, white head. Piny, resinous, grapefruit aroma with a nice toffee, toast, and caramel balance. The flavor is lots of very fresh hops lending to a luscious pine, orange, and ruby grapefruit flavor with a great toasty caramel malt background and a hint of cherry. Very nicely balanced. A bit of floralness comes out on the finish too. This is a very refreshing double IPA in that itís not cloying like so many can be yet still has a nice assertive hop profile without going overboard. The body is full and creamy with gentle carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear reddish amber color with a medium head. Decent head retention and lacing. Nice floral hop aroma with citrus and berry notes. Taste is very fruity with citrus, plum and berry notes as well as bitter resiny notes throughout. Medium-full bodied. Two consecutive New Holland beers that didnít disappoint... Iím shocked!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Without being overbearing, a nice flavorful IPA that one ups the regular Mad Hatter. Lacking intensity of many Imperial IPAs and that is a good thing. Tasty.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A copper colored beer with a large fluffy tan head. Lots of unique tiny bubbles rise to the surface. Thick, sticky lacing. Nose is grapefruit dominated with lesser amounts of caramel. This brewer threw a strike with this beer and it is down the middle and very hittable. It is in style and tasty. Full of hops with plenty of citrus, and tons of pine flavors. Gobs of sweetness. Some wood and spice. Nice bitterness. Still, nothing here is huge and is even understated, including the alcohol. That makes this DIPA very easy to drink.
