This brew has an opaque dark orange color with a small white head, and the aroma combines the scents of caramel malts and resin and floral hops. The taste is quite bitter, slightly sour, and a touch sweet, and the palate fuses a sticky texture, medium body, slightly bitter finish, and a soft carbonation.

Michigan..huh? You are alright in my book. I love the upper peninsula. Anyways, this is a satisfying imperial. You know.. that strong IPA your taste buds are waiting for. Go for it! Thatís what itís there for. Enjoy;)

On tap at Twisted Jimmyís. Nice hoppy aroma. Spicy and piney with mild sweet caramel and toffee. Deep coppery amber clear with thin head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Starts somewhat sweet, sugar and caramel. Big hoppy flavor with smooth after and a bit of warming.

2010 vintage pours dark but has a thin oily cap that makes me think this may be slightly off. Looks more like a bitter than an ipa. Aroma is muted. The malts hit the tongue first & is followed by a strong slap of alcohol. Hops are muted & Iím thinking the balance is off here. Iím also thinking this bottle is off. Would love to try another vintage to see if my hunch is correct but living from Canada excludes me (unless yíall wanna do a swap).

2012 vintage. 12oz. Bottle poured from a $9.99 4pk brought @ Waltís in their new craft beer section into a Duvel tulip. Pours a dark red amber leaving a tan head with some sticky lacing. Aromas of, well just malt mostly. ...a hint of pine. Tastes of caramel malt, some slight hop bitterness on the end. Nothing else. Totally disappointed. Hoping for a nice citrus hop nose& flavor but sadly that was completely absent. Bad batch? Old stock? Donít know for sure but tasted and smelled like an IPA past itís due.

12 ounce bottle in snifter. Dark amber/orange. Caramel malt, light on hops and bitterness. High ABV is apparent and the flavor doesnít stand up to it.

Poured from a growler.
Golden orange with a sweet creamy head
Sweet malty citrus aroma.
Taste is piney caramel.
Overall a solid DIPA. Not a huge New Holland fan (exception Dragonís Milk) this brew is definitely better than average.

yes theres hops citrus and floral mostly but a malty back is also in the aroma and a funky yeastiness too..looks like it should a cloudy orange amber with creamy foam head..tastes like it smells well balanced between its 3 characteristics,bitterness,sweet malts and bready yeast not a hop bomb like it says dry lingering finish full bodied creamy texture..overall a quality ipa alcohol well hidden but not a favorite too nondescript

Pours a cloudy orange. Nice nose of citrus and pine. Definitely some grapefruit taste followed by bitter hops. Bitterness lingers for a while. Alcohol well hidden. Not as good as Dogfish Head 90 or Firestone Double Jack, but a good Imperial IPA.

The orange amber colored body was clear, and the pour formed three ginger thick head. The carbonation looked subdued. The aroma was very tropical, with mango, peach, and papaya smells. There were also spicy and herbal notes in the nose. The taste was quite intense, as the spicy hops battled with the very sweet malt base. The result was not unlike sucking on a cinnamon flavored red hot. The alcohol was very warming as well, and the mouthfeel was sticky. This was a typical east coast style DIPA, with complex malt bill, lots of herbal hops, but no bracing bitterness.
