COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A robust renovation of the India Pale Ale. Assertive dry-hoppying provides an aromatic telltale nose, indicative of the bitter symphony to follow. Bold hop character with lively grapefruit and citrus notes. 20° Plato, Alc. 9.4% by Vol.

Pours a rusty orange color with virtually no head. Nose is ALL citrus especially grapefruit, with nice sweetness. Taste is full of citrus with nice balanced sweetness and bitterness. Finish is very dry, moderately long and finishes bitterly . Nice. Quaff Score 7 / 10

Pours a rusty orange with an off white head and sweet aroma of grapefruit and hops. Taste is sweet, lots of hoppy, grapefruit, citrus, and caramel flavor with a butter, dry finish. Delicious DIPA, very drinkable and well hidden alcohol at 9 abv

From bottle. Pours deep golden amber with decent head. Aroma is all pine and that typical boozy Imperial aroma. Taste follows but balanced with caramel malt and smoothed out. Finish is clean.

Bottle, 2011 vintage. Pours a very murky amber. Small off white head. Mild pine aroma. Flavor is very well balance between the grapefruit bitterness and the caramel sweetness. Hops are very mutted, maybe due to the age. Thick, mildly sticky, palate. Very enjoyable, but not worth $5.50 I paid for a bottle.

On tap at the monaca bocktwon. Big hoppy aroma. Sweet pine or spruce taste. Yes, taste is big bitter hting. No co2 at all. There is a sloght burning sensation on the tongue. Going down the hatch I think I’m getting a a little dizzy, wew. Finish is mouth coating soapy handsoap. not for the fainthearted lager lover, fer sure.

In short: A problematic aggressive amber IPA. Bad bottle?
How: From a bottle at Mondial De La Bière 2012
The look: Clear dark amber body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is resinous fruity hops, a bit of diacetyl and light fusel notes. Taste is salad croutons covered with honey and caramel, harsh alcohol, resinous bitterness crashing with some acidity, strange notes of parmesan. Assertive razor-sharp bitterness joined by an alcohol bite. Plastic notes in the after-taste. Not sure what happened here but I’m certain the bottle wasn’t the intended result. Seems to be a pretty popular beer and it is getting good ratings, I don’t get it, not sure what the deal is with that beer, maybe $11.99 for a six-pack.

Bottle. Nice level of hoppy bitterness to this beer, b ut is balanced well enough to not be overpowering. Subtle hoppiness to the nose, which is inviting.
