COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A robust renovation of the India Pale Ale. Assertive dry-hoppying provides an aromatic telltale nose, indicative of the bitter symphony to follow. Bold hop character with lively grapefruit and citrus notes. 20° Plato, Alc. 9.4% by Vol.

Tap at Capone’s. Pours out a mostly clear copper with a small white lacing head. Aroma of sticky floral and citrus hops, and a slight caramel malt/sweetness going on also. Taste is well balanced, citrus, grapefruit and pine hops, sweet caramel malts, with a dry and ever so lightly boozy finish, but definitely not telling of the 9.4%.

Pours bright amber with a mostly receding off-white head. Notes of intense pine, mango, grapfruit and hop resins. Full to heavy bodied with thick resins and lightly carbonation.

22oz Bottle. Thanks Sean! Strong, near-barleywine hop perfume for an aroma. Dense and a good bit caramel. Floral, resiny, and backed with alcohols. Pours a slightly hazed orange-amber, with a nice white head. Flavor is a spicy version of hops. Saffron, black peppercorn, cardamom, and a bit of mace. Very sticky. This is very drinkable, considering it’s heft. The alcohols rise quickly and bring many resins, pine cones, and morning flowers to the nose. Lots of grapefruit. Smacks very dry and long, with satisfying bitterness to play off the caramels. Excellent! Another Michigan Imperial IPA that I think can hold it’s own against the West Coast versions.

courtesy of sidetracked, thanks! nice dark amber to light brown pour with a creamy 1 finger head. aroma is faint, but nice. the taste is big and heavy, lots of malt, east coast style iipa. lots of clandied floral tastes, medium bitterness to balance, great mouthfeel and the abv is well hidden. very thick aftertaste, thick body, bordering hoppy bw, and similar to flying mouflan side by side.

Copper colored pour with a small, frothy, white head. Piny, resinous, grapefruit aroma with a nice toffee, toast, and caramel balance. The flavor is lots of very fresh hops lending to a luscious pine, orange, and ruby grapefruit flavor with a great toasty caramel malt background and a hint of cherry. Very nicely balanced. A bit of floralness comes out on the finish too. This is a very refreshing double IPA in that it’s not cloying like so many can be yet still has a nice assertive hop profile without going overboard. The body is full and creamy with gentle carbonation.

bottle - Pours amber-orange with a one finger head. It has a big grapefruit hop aroma with some underlying malt. The flavor is of big, crisp, grapefruit heavy hop bitterness with some caramel malt that supports it nicely. It’s full bodied and overall an excellent brew.

Big, white, fluffy head that stays long. Red-amber color and very clear. Nice citrus hop aroma that don’t over power the beer. Sweet and balanced bitterness with a smooth caramell. After some time when the beer gets warmer the sweetness is more pronounced and not as perfect as in the beginning.

Solidly malty and nicely bitter. Nothing over the top per style, but I really enjoyed it. Citrus and sticky pine in the aroma with a fresh, soapy hop quality. Dark copper pour, inch thick off white head and thick lacing. Medium bodied, and thick for an IPA (just how I like it). Bitter and malty with a resinous coating. Grapefruit, caramel and pine flavors dominate. Some lemon and a faint nuttiness round out a good balance.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with a frothy white head leavin sticky lacong along the glass. The aroma is floral hops and Citrus. Medium mouthfeel with a vanilla and oak flavor. Easy to drink a very good IIPA from New Holland.
