COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lucid, a kolsch ale, is New Hollands latest brand launch. It is a beer that takes its spot in the year-round line up in place of recently retired brands, Paleooza and Full Circle. Lucid’s refreshing quality is sure to make it a favorite session beer for many different beer drinkers. It has a soft and balanced malt character with a light hop profile and a crisp finish. We recommend it with salads, fish, grilled vegetables, and just about anything served on a patio.

Draft at Ashley’s, Ann Arbor, MI. Poured clear golden color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate fruity sour citrus aroma. Bottle: Pours a transparent golden bronze with a wispy-lacing thin white head. Aroma of lightly sweet pale malt and some grain along with faint citrusy esters. Body is mildly earthy grainy and semi-sweet but not very fresh or crisp with a drier, blander finish. Somewhat true to style, but not all that good.

Cheesy aroma, pale yellow with minimal foaming head. Rather light mouthfeel, with a bit of creaminess secondary, and weak dry finish. Unfinishable.

12oz bottle. Clear yellow pour, instant corn and fuesal notes in the nose, with a similar taste of dried corn, rubber, acetone and other chemicals, mixed up in a supposed pils malt and lightly hopped body. It says it’s recommended with salads and vegetables, and maybe that’s because it smells and tastes like vegetables.

Bottle from Capone’s. Medium gold pour with big 3-finger or so white head and a lot of carbonation streams. Aroma is pale malt, some hopcitrus and a dash of honey. The flavor is pale malty, with a crisp finish, and also some spicy hop and mild citrus notes. This one comes across as a cream ale and pils hybrid.
