3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
New Holland Lucid
12 oz bottle
Moderate pour in a shaker
Recent brewing, enjoyed 05/07
Poured a clear gold with an average fizzy somewhat diminishing white head.
Smelt of moderate sour oranges and light white bread. Tasty bread though.
Taste was upfront moderate sweet bread, sour oranges and bitter perfume hops followed by a moderate bitter light dough and light sweet oranges on an average finish.
Palate was light bodied, lively carbonated, and lightly astringent.
Overall, this is a good refreshing Kolsch with good sour bite. Excellent in its refreshing and soothing qualities, but not spectacular.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
pours clear light yellow with finger thick head that dissapates quickly. soft and refreshing, slightly malty with a baked-good aroma. not an overpowering beer, this is great for a hot summer night around a campfire.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy straw color with no head. Aroma is very light, with hints of grass, grain, citrusy hops, and a bit of malt. Taste is light and crisp, with a very earthy initial flavor of grass and grain giving way to a sweeter lingering finish of honey and hops. Little flavor to speak of, but nothing much to speak against.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
I’ve been looking for a kolsch for a while. This is my first so I can’t compare it with others but I find it to be a very smooth, very well balanced beer. Nice hops flavor without a lot of bitterness. I found it last week and am going back tonight to get more

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a thin yellow, no foam. Aroma too faint to notice. Taste reminds me of a Saison, a bit bubbly and spicy. Pretty good.

I have not had many Kolsch brews. I was excited to taste it and got a good summery taste. Lots of herb and fruit undertones. Quality taste. I enjoyed it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUN 17, 2008 I am a very big fan of kolsch style beers, especially during the summer. This one was definitely impressive. It poured with a nice lacy head and had aromas of fresh grass and honey. The taste was spectacularly smooth and refreshing, again with grassy hops and a nice artichoke-like bittersweetness. Overall, I liked it, yup.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours with a average white creamy head. The lacing is good leaving a film up the glass throughout the whole beer. The head sticks around the whole time. The body is very light yellow. The aroma is that of light bread and cereal, followed by light spicy hop notes. The taste starts off kind of with a sweet grainy taste followed with a spicy finish on the back of the tounge. The body is very light with a dry, crisp finish and soft carbonation. A very good session beer, one that has great flavor for the experienced drinker, yet light enough for the BMC crowd. It is a very good replacement to Full Circle. Yet I sure will miss Paleooza.
