I solid IPA from New Holland. And one of the few beers I actually enjoy by the brewery.

12 oz can. 6083. (Friar Tuck) Springfield, IL.
Dark amber brown colour with a small light tan head.
Dark sweet hops, mild bitterness and sweet caramel malt in the aroma.
The flavour is strong hoppy with resin, moderate bitterness and sweet maltiness. Very dark and sweet IPA. Not my favourite.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle pour..medium orange olor when held up to light..small barely noticeable head..aroma on this is not really good with some spicy hops but seems to be dominated by wet grass and also wet cardboard..mouthfeel isnít much better..there is a bit of just something off here and I think this is a fairly fresh offering from 365 day coding..light body..lightly carbonated..very dry finish but this just comes across as a very bland ipa that isnít session worthy and something I canít see seeking out again..

Pours a cloudy orange. Smells of pine and citrus. I get a grapefruit taste with the normal hop bite afterwards. Not overly bitter, which for this, I am glad. Brings out the citrus. Hop taste lingers afterward.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355 mL bottle. Slightly different label. Translucent rusty-orange with a medium, foamy, off-white head. Mostly sweet citrus in the nose, with a little rose petal underneath. The flavour is quite fruity (hops) and a little on the sweet side. The malt really only tastes like sweet. (Not that this beer is super sweet.) Not overwhelmingly bitter, which makes it more drinkable and a little less interesting.

The Lost Notebook Files Beer #22. This beer underscores the importance of listening to the local beer guy. The clerk at Sicilianoís discouraged me from buying this, but I pressed on. Ended up drinking a middling beer. Pours light amber. Piney hop scent. Bitter and undercarbonated. Bottle - Sicilianoís Specialty Market - Grand Rapids, MI

Bottle. Pour is a deep amber color. Thin off white head leaves some light lacing. Aroma is caramel malt with some floral notes. Flavors of caramel malt, piney/grassy hops, and some light citrus. Medium/heavy body with a dry lingering bitter finish.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured a mildly hazy orange with almost bright white head on it with nice pine and citrus scent to it. The malts are hidden within the beer and I almost got no scent from them at all. A well-balanced beer with a great flavor. Itís too bad that they donít distribute near my house because I would be buying a lot more of this!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sort of an amber color with great lacing and nice hop aroma. Fantastic hop flavors with a wee, wee bit of maltiness. Very balanced and not bitter. No funky aftertaste- solid drink throughout. Good IPA!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours golden-copper with a thick, rocky off-white head that settles slowly and leaves clumpy lace behind. Nose of pine forest, herbs, earthy hops, and some sweet caramel/honey grain notes. Pretty sweet with a fair bitterness. Medium bodied, soft yet tingly, with a fruity and bitter hop finish. Cool brew, subdued compared to many, but very drinkable and flavorful.
