jeff789 (33), USA Mar 28, 2008 The bottle foamed a bit as i opened it, it tasted like fruity pebbles, an immediate good sign... the only complain i have was the finish was a bit thin for my liking... good aroma, good mouthfeel til the end, and as with most new holland products, good flavor
SynergyXJ (395), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Jul 22, 2008 Draught at Capital Ale House, Richmond, VA, #391 Hazy golden pour with a small head and good lacing. Flowery aroma and flavor. Significanctly less hoppy than advertised. Good IPA overall, but a bit dry. doubleo (683), San Diego, California, USA Jul 19, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours light orange/yellow with a thin, semi-creamy, white head, good lace. Smells malty and nutty hoppy. Tastes more hoppy than it smells. Still nutty, some sweet caramelly malt flavor and a bit of bitterness. Medium body, somewhat subdued carbonation. Ughsmash (2835), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 18, 2008 Bottled on 10/6. Poured lighter orange-tinted golden with a shorter, well-retained cap of off-white. The aroma was just delightful.. juicy grapefruit, floral notes, and piney hoppage over sweet grapefruit meat and bready notes.. very well presented. The flavor was good but a notch or 2 below the nose.. orange and pils-like bready sweetness at the core surrounded by pine and sticky citrus bitterness.. finished dry and quite bitter with more citrus and pine. Medium-bodied and increasingly bitter on the palate with great balance throughout.. this was mighty, mighty good! scraff (1615), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Jul 15, 2008 Light hazed orange, thin off-white fizzy head. Light toasted piney earth and floral nose warms to a sweet caramel undercurrent. Soft bitter dried citrus flavors with no semblance of balancing malt. Light bodied, medium carbonation, quick drying bitter finish. Lacks refinement… walter (352), Staunton, Virginia, USA Jul 13, 2008 Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Medium amber color with offwhite head. Nose of pine and herbal hops and toasty malt. Flavor is piney and herbal hops over a weak caramel malt, a bit too much like a hop tea. Watery and thin all the way, just not enough malt to make this a solid effort.
