The epitome of Hand Crafted, Michigan Awesome Hatter celebrates community, collaboration & local agriculture. Centennial hops from the Leelanu Peninsula provide bright citrusy counterpoint to the delicious and earthy malt notes from Michigan grown and malted 2-row barley.

Bomber from a friend. Thanks Shawn! pours a slightly murky copper with a very frothy off-white head. nice bubbly lacing. Aroma is floral and pine. Taste bright and hoppy. Hint of citrus, lemon or grapefruit. Long finish. Nice nasal linger. Solid IPA.

The Michigan Awesome Hatter combines the successful Hatter IPA series with the fresh hop craze. The results are... kind of weird. On the one side, this IPA reveals some nuanced elements you donít always get in an IPA. Caramely and subtle chocolate malt foundation. Hop flavors feature an herbaceous tea-like quality, berry notes, and citrus. On the other side, this doesnít seem much like an IPA at all. The crispness and bold aromatics just arenít there. Like the other Hatters, this oneís fun to try. Definitely not my favorite release in the series, though.

Darker than expected appearance, but a mild overall IPA. Light citrus aroma, sort of weak, somewhat stale bitter finish.

Looks kindah viscous in the glass from a bot. Hazy like darker hefe. Mild stuffy nose sweet aroma. Big blasting mouth coating imperial ipa thick feel. What else can be said except itís quite an impression.

Where and how: tasting, bottle 650 ml
Aroma: medium plus intensity, slightly earthy, even metallic. Sweet malts and alcohol character followed.
Appearance :
Top: large, white cap with some lace
Base: hazy amber-gold
Palate : medium lighter body, dry. Finish fades quickly.
Taste: rather bland. Forgettable and with its rather thin body that had metallic hints blended with caramel like sugars do not help. Side hop character at least was decent.
other notes with flaws, but in the end its an OK brew.

Luminous peachy amber color, 1" thick frothy hop-pocked heavy cream head. Floral and fruity hop notes hover about the bouquet. Notes of peaches and pineapple arise. Similarly this medium-bodied ale is dominated by floral hop notes, with rivulets of fruits, including pineapple. Light bitterness, gives way to a fruity hop finish.

650 ml bottle at beerbistro. Pours a cloudy orange/amber colour with moderate-sized, lacey whiteish head. Aroma is spicy, citric hops with lots of earthiness and a little graininess. Flavour is hop forward with strong spicy notes and some citrus, loads of earthiness and a little caramel. Slick mouthfeel. Nice one.

FROTHINGSLOSH (6197) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 13, 2015
Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-caramel color with an enormous overflowing foamy orange-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was gritty with sour pine and citrus. The flavor was sour caramel, pine, bitter and astringent with a note of tobacco underneath. Long finish. Medium body but overcarbonated. Not good.

Bottle from Beer Bazaar. An orangey-amber pour with a bit of an off-white head. Aroma has heavy citrus and pine, with some light malt underneath. Quite dry hopped and layered. Taste is of dank citrus, orange rinds, some caramel, some sprucy pine. A bit of apple, interestingly, showed through. Medium to full bodied and syrupy. Finishes thickly bitter, with some apple/fruity sweetness trying to hang in for balance. One of NHs better ones. 13.7

Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of bread, earthiness, pine and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, pine, earthiness and light citrus with a crisp dry moderately bitter finish.
