Michigan Hatter celebrates our local agriculture with its Michigan-grown Cascade hops from the Leelanau Penninsula. Bright and aromatic, with delicious malt notes underneath a citrusy showcase of hops. Pairings: sharp cheddars, herb-roasted poultry and curry.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear orange amber with an off-white head. Pine, grapefruit, and orange citrus hops with a little pale malt in the aroma. Flavor hits similar notes, led by herbal pine hops and grapefruit hops with pale malt flavors. Itís solid.

Bomber bottle from Champanes, this ale had a copper pour with a bunch of particles and it gave a one to two faint off-white head that recedes to cover and sticky ring, there was not much carbonation in the glass, just a few stray bubbles, the sides of the glass had some spots and small fingers of lacing on the sides, I found no sediment in the bottle but there were particles in the pour, this IPA had aromas of citrus and floral hops with toasted malt, caramel, earth and leaf hints, and some malt sweetness, there were light flavors of toasted malt with grass and citrus hops, light caramel and fruit, faint earth in the background, the finish had some hop bitterness and there was some drying on the palate, the mouth feel was light with soft carbonation, a nice and easy IPA drink with grass and citrus hops, not big on the hops but a good beer.

Pours a fine-sediment laden auburn with a decent sized khaki head that settles to a thick bubbly ring and leaves some splotches of lacing. Somewhat milder nose of caramel, pine, grapefruit, and herbal hops. Fairly sweet, a bit more bitter, nice mix. Lighter-medium body, decent carb, with a lingering herbal hoppy bitterness. Pretty enjoyable, nothing earth-shattering, just a decent, tasty brew.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent orange colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was malt hop. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish with a biting hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of hops. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

Bomber. Poured a nice shade of medium orange with a dense, well-retained beige head. The aroma picked up sweet, kind of odd biscuit and bready malts topped by a nice hit of orange juicy hoppage.. strange, but the orange really drew me in. The flavor found tangy orange zest, grass, and floral notes over soft bready and pale malts.. finished dry with light pine, orange, and earthy bitterness. Light-medium bodied and dry on the palate.. moderate carbonation.. just and OK feel/flow. Decent brew, but I donít need another.

Bomber. Pours a deep amber in color with a nice foamy off white head. Pretty light aroma; some citrus hops and caramel malt. Taste is sweet caramel malt and some moderately bitter hops. Overall, its a nicely balanced IPA; but I would like more of a hop presence. I see thereís other Hatters out there. Time for me to find some of íem!

22 oz bottle. Pours a beautiful transparent amber with a thick foamy off-white head. Thick sticky lacing. Some active carbonation. Subtle aroma of pine and citrus hops. Definitely doesnít lead you to believe something exciting is coming. Caramel malts hit the palate first then comes the hops. Citrus pine and floral followed by a bit of ashtray. Too much malt for sure. Itís an IPA give me more hops! Medium bodied. Not much going on. Very boring.

Smells past it's prime, if this beer had one. Hop aroma is very muted, taste also muted and watery. Not a good ipa, wouldn't buy or drink again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. Pours a clear amber color with a small foamy head that fades normally. Aroma is citrus fruits, rye, caramel, and some flowers. Taste is very citrusy and floral up front and finishes spicy with lots of caramel. Pretty solid, hops are fresh, lots of malt, nice balance of sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation, a little oil in the mouthfeel. Overall, pretty solid IPA.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate orange, sweet fruits, grapefruit, and a touch of caramel. It pours a transparent amber with a small yellow-tinged off-white head that quickly fades to a soapy film outlined by a thicker ring. A thin sheet of lacing is left behind on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of caramel and light fruit. The finish has moderate grapefruit and some spice. Itís medium bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel. Overall, itís a solid IPA, but the caramel is something I can always do without in this style.
