Pour from a 22oz. Pours a deep, dark black with a light tan head. Scent is chocolate, booze. Taste is roasted malts, burnt coffee, with a boozy kick. Nice and thick. Solid imperial stout.

I’m drinking the 2016 version, 11.5% ABV. I can smell the flaked barley, along with some dark fruit, coffee and cocoa. Not boozy or roasty at all. Flat black color with a light brown head. It looked watery pouring out; I have to dock it a point for that. The dark fruit makes an appearance in the taste as well, along with brown sugar and roasted malt. Not very complex, but not bad either. Strong and long lasting aftertaste. The palate really let me down. An Imperial Stout this big should not be this thin and watery. Overall, this was pretty good but I don’t know whether I would seek it out again. It was expensive, not really worth it.

Purchased at Siciliano's Market in Grand Rapids, MI; enjoyed at home after a long long run and lots of driving to the suburbs. Appearance is pitch black, moderate thickness. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, vanilla, smells nice. Taste is very good, light burn from ABV, strong chocolate notes, finishes dry, very good stuff.

Bottled 01/29/16. Pours black, small quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is super roasty, lots of chocolate, some coffee. Flavor is very roasted malt, chocolate, sweet chocolate notes, maybe some vanilla. Decently sweet. Nice full body, very good.

Bottle shared. Thanks Gregg! The nose has some light coconut and vanilla bt is basically Dr. Pepper all the way. Alcohol is well integrated and completely non-existent basically. Super smooth and dare I say quaffable. A fun beer.

Really nice and even if palate and taste. Would never know the high ABV. Rich toasted and roasted malts. Bitter and sugars balance with blackness of depth of taste and it’s reflective of color too. Tap

Bottle. Pours a black opaque color with a tan head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark fruit and bit of coffee. Taste of coffee, roasted malt, dark fruit and some chocolate. Solid bitterness that lingers into a dry finish. full body, thick and quite creamy, has a bit of a boozy feel, but still is an enjoyable beer.
