3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A: pours dark, deep black ale with a single finger of mocha head. This sticks around for several minutes before falling to a sheet of the same, albeit broken. Spotty lacing. Clarity cannot be assessed on this darky.
S: Piny hops, molasses, bitter chocolate, slightest hint of graham. Nice, but nothing to call home about.
T: Roasty malts, graham, molasses, resiny hops. This is not particularly complex, but it is really nicely done. The flavor would likely come together more with some time in the bottle (12-18 mos). Alcohol is evident but complimentary.
M: Thick and something I could munch on. I like the viscosity here. Really decent carb here too: a little below moderate.
O: Nice beer, worthy of a try. Not as worthy if you have limited cellar space, but could age well. Otherwise, worth a try, but not overly awesome.
Serving type: bottle

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is lighter for an imperial stout. Boozy with a little acidity. Big chocolate note. Looks perfect. Very dark brown with a very creamy head. Great taste. Big chocolate note. Acidity cuts through quite a bit. Finish is a bit of booze with more chocolate. A little acidic on the palate. Full body. Nice finish.
Overall this is a solid stout with a much better chocolate note than others. Acidity comes through a bit too much. Otherwise solid.

On Tap at Trion Tavern in New Haven, IN. Pours an opaque black. Tannish head that was ample but diminished. Aroma is a deep roast dark chocolate malt. Taste is a nice combo of roast malt, toffee, some vanilla notes as well......marshmellow?? A nice imperial stout!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 12/26/2012. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, toast, toffee, molasses, light char, light raisin, and roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, char, toast, toffee, molasses, light smoke, light raisin, and roasted earthiness. Good amount of roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, char, toast, toffee, light smoke, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt flavors; with a nice sweetness/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very creamy, slick, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial stout. All around great complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle:   Black, thin dark beige head, spotty lacing.   Roasty nose, black coffee, a little bit of dark pitted fruit.   Not as roasty on the nose, semi-sweet, actually sweeter than most, with more dark pitted fruit.   Not a heavy stout, body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Cold coffee, ash, minor dark pitted fruit, and roastiness on the finish.   Not a Stout to re-write history, but its pretty solid.   Better than most I should say!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance is very dark, clear, nice tan head, tight creamy pattern covering the top. Roasted notes dominate nose and taste. Also some coffee in the taste, and a bit of booze in the back end. Satisfying, not complex, decent, not a great one.
