Bomber - poured black with a small head. Had a malty bourbon taste to it. Somewhat thin on the mouthfeel. Decent.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Gachupines (627) - USA - MAY 9, 2013
Black with a thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate. Flavor is strong chocolate with an overly sweet finish. Rich and especially suited to dessert but a touch one note. A little aggressive in the alcohol sweetness with some bitterness from the hops. Not bad, but a little bitter up front and a little overly sweet in the finish.

Draft. Pours black with a dark tan head. Aroma is semi sweet chocolate, roasted coffees. Taste is burny coffee rinds, chocolate with some dark fruit underliners. Palate is full, rich with a lingering char and medium sweetness. Very nice. Lovely sipper.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 seth_lfod (115) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - APR 25, 2013
Bomber shared by Nick... Thanks! Aroma is subdued.... inert as a fellow beer geek described it. Pours a jet black with a small mocha head. Taste is again slightly inert... Can get a little chocolate and dark fruits, a little alcohol. Body is good, what I would expect from an imperial stout. Decent offering.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Phatdog1 (112) - Brentwood, New Hampshire, USA - APR 21, 2013
Bomber thanks to ZMDR1975. Ink black pour into a snifter. Amazing aroma of dark fruit, chocolate, candy and booze. Very mellow upfront. Complex mix of rasins, dark chocolate and black licorice. Sweet finish with a bit of heat from the 10.8 abv. Rich & robust like an Impy should be. I would definately seek this out again.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 tdmuel (79) - South Carolina, USA - APR 15, 2013
Pours almost pitch black with a fluffy khaki head. Lots of dark fruit and roasted malt on the nose, sweet chocolate notes, caramel, slight coffee notes, and a bit of booze. Taste is very milk chocolate and coffee forward, good bit of roasted malt and caramel, some dark fruits and mocha. Full bodied, medium carbonation. Well balanced, not extraordinary but still quite tasty/

Bottle at Monks Porter House, March 2013.
Black with a small, creamy tan head. Aroma and taste of milk chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and some fruit. Nice body on this one. The aftertaste was long. A solid one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 chinchill (568) - South Carolina, USA - MAR 28, 2013
Growler fill from TCT (Greenville). Pours brown/black with a decent head. Aroma of dark roasted malt with hints of rum, dark chocolate and weak coffee. There’s some chocolate and coffee in the flavor too, but a much more substantial load of dark roasted malts, particularly towards the finish. A bit boozy and a touch of burnt grain, but both are more welcome than objectionable.
O: A well crafted, mainstream imperial stout.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 gonzosauce (133) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Vertical tasting of 2013, 2012, and 2011. Reviewing 2011 specifically. A somewhat hollow tartness on the nose; certainly intriguing but one dimensional (more fresh bottles smelled of raw malt and dark fruit). Headless, dark bastard with only a touch of film. Tastes of malt/lactic sourness, mellow purple fruit, and wine. Eldest bottle certainly immensely preferred to the more recent. (The most recent two years varied from one another only a bit - the two yr old had become something new entirely). Overall, rich and tart in flavor but gently bodied for an imperil stout.
