3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours black and thick with a light tan head. Little to no lacing as I drink. Flavor is bitter with hints of roasted malts. Mouthfeel is thick and slightly oily with a lingering aftertaste.

Really nice and even if palate and taste. Would never know the high ABV. Rich toasted and roasted malts. Bitter and sugars balance with blackness of depth of taste and itís reflective of color too. Tap

Taste of coffee, roasted malt, dark fruit and some chocolate. Solid bitterness that lingers into a dry finish. full body, thick and quite creamy, has a bit of a boozy feel, but still is an enjoyable beer.

"Got a good reason for taking the easy way out." Oh wait, thatís from Day Tripper by The Beatles. Ah well. Even though theyíre divided by night and day, I still like the parallel. Underneath its clean-cut happy-go-lucky surface layer, Day Tripper was about sex and drugs. Night Tripper is like that. Its pitch black body is dangerously smooth and drinkable. The rich malts showcase chocolate, cream, roasted barley, and a hint of anise. At 10.8%, itíll deviously trick you into thinking this is a much lighter beer than it is. Sometimes mischief is more fun when itís hidden.
