COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Night Tripper is an Imperial Stout brewed for a Fat Tuesday release. Dark, mysterious and poetic, Night Tripper's abundance of roasted malts, combined with flaked barley create a rich, roasty beer with deeply intense and lush flavors. Night Tripper's layered, nuanced tones invite intrigue and reward a curious palate.

Bottle that I bought during DLD weekend 2008. Pours black with just a slight mocha head. Aroma of old dark chocolate, light creamy coffee, cocoa powder, light smoke, booze and slight roast. Taste is cocoa powder, dark chocolate, slight coffee, huge roasty bitterness, slight earthy hops, a bit of smoke and booze. Slightly thin for an RIS but enjoyable. Pretty solid but a bit too much on the fake chocolate flavor side.

Bottle shared. Thanks Gregg! The nose has some light coconut and vanilla bt is basically Dr. Pepper all the way. Alcohol is well integrated and completely non-existent basically. Super smooth and dare I say quaffable. A fun beer.

Dark brown color. Very smooth Dr Pepper with Cola and very dry nose with some wheat and cacao. The mouth is super smooth with the abv well hidden. Dry with lots of cracked wheat and dark chocolate, cacao. Intense cacao. So well balanced. Perfectly executed.for the abv it’s really amazing

Really nice and even if palate and taste. Would never know the high ABV. Rich toasted and roasted malts. Bitter and sugars balance with blackness of depth of taste and it’s reflective of color too. Tap

Bottle. Pours a black opaque color with a tan head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark fruit and bit of coffee. Taste of coffee, roasted malt, dark fruit and some chocolate. Solid bitterness that lingers into a dry finish. full body, thick and quite creamy, has a bit of a boozy feel, but still is an enjoyable beer.

"Got a good reason for taking the easy way out." Oh wait, that’s from Day Tripper by The Beatles. Ah well. Even though they’re divided by night and day, I still like the parallel. Underneath its clean-cut happy-go-lucky surface layer, Day Tripper was about sex and drugs. Night Tripper is like that. Its pitch black body is dangerously smooth and drinkable. The rich malts showcase chocolate, cream, roasted barley, and a hint of anise. At 10.8%, it’ll deviously trick you into thinking this is a much lighter beer than it is. Sometimes mischief is more fun when it’s hidden.

Bottle to tulip. Jet black with an average beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is cocoa, dark roasted malts, and vanilla. Flavor is dark chocolate, creamy milk chocolate, vanilla, a little coffee, and hints of tobacco. Thick and creamy with a dry finish. Alcohol is invisible, there is no way that I would guess it is 11.5% Excellent beer.
