3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Champagne Cellars. Initially a very sour and then the woodiness takes over. Very Good drinkability, the barreling was effective. Lacey on a lighter yellow body. Hoppiness was well integrated and about right.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours an orangish brown with white head and lots of lacing. Aromas are all oak. Bourbon, vanilla, and oak. Flavors are boozy bourbon, sweet vanilla and oak. There is some nice hop bitterness at the end.. But this a bit too dominated by the bourbon.

Pour from a 22oz bomber. Clear orange amber brew with dense tan head. Aroma of wood, bourbon, resin and citrus. Taste is mild malt at the start, moderate wood, vanilla, and a little char mid swallow. Pleasant resinous finish. Nice.

Bomber. Pours an medium clear orange gold with off white head. Aroma is a woody vanilla malt citrus. Taste is more of the same, vanilla really coming thru with citrus highlights and slight smoke wood aftertaste, a nice IPA with a slight twist

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(bottle - 22 oz) Light ruby pour with a white head. Mild hops in the nose with a very apparent wood and vanilla hint from the barrel. Light citrus hops at the start of the flavor that melds into a semi-sweet oak flavor near the middle. The hops come back a little at the end but donít overpower anything, and neither does the oaked characteristics.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Subtle oak in the nose. Mild grassy hops. Pours a hazy amberish red. Taste is slightly bitter with a rounded mellow hop presence, not overly aggressive. Very tasty. A light alcohol warming in the finish.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured golden brown with good sized white head. Aroma was floral, citrusey with oak/vanilla notes. Aroma was reminiscent of Dragonís Milk, actually. Anyway, taste of oak with a certain dryness, with good malty backbone. Hop flavor was muted, and the bitterness was not strong. I enjoyed it, as I have with each of the Hatter series I have tried. This oneís strength, for me, was that they brought the oak, just as the label said. You canít say that for every cocked up IPA varietal that has flooded the shelves recently.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a 22oz bottle.
Pours a copper color, somewhat cloudy, with an off-white head. Nice combination of fruity hops and oakiness. Very crisp taste. I'll gladly finish the bottle...

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a nice dark amber orange color. Bit of carbonation bubbling up. Poured a nice rocky two finger just slightly off white head. The nose has a malty sweetness. Hints of vanilla coming through, maybe some coconut. Some resiny pine and a hint of grapefruity citrus. Immediately there is an earthy herbal essence in the mouth. Follow that up with barrel characteristics. There is a mild toasted coconut with a hint of sweet vanilla. It rolls into a nice caramel note followed up by the piney citrus notes. There is a nice piney sweetness on the finish with a little bitterness. As the beer warms the barrel notes come out more. Very interesting, nice. A nice rounded beer.
