COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer has a golden colored body with a creamy white head. Its slightly sweet malt flavor makes up the base and offers a supporting role to the refreshing hop profile. Cascade hops provide a floral, citrus and almost fruity character to this well balanced easy drinking ale. Back by popular demand, “Paleooza” is an old favorite and an early original in our portfolio of great beers! 14°

bottle. amber with small head. malty base with light hops. easy to drink, but i’d like a tad more hops. seems kinda small flavor-wise, but not bad.

12 oz bottle pours a clear orange amber with one-finger white head that lasts and leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma is mostly citrus (orange, lemon, grapefruit) with sweet caramel for balance and a little grass. Taste is slightly bitter with sweetness in the middle. Body is light to medium with average carbonation and a crisp, clean mouthfeel. I’m glad I picked up a 4-pack of this easily drinkable APA

Bottle, the label was different from what is shown on RateBeer, this APA had a clear orange-copper pour (there was some sediment particles floating around) and made a one finger head of off-white bubbles that receded to a sticky ring and sparse cover, the glass had a center stream of medium flowing bubbles, this beer left spots and finger of lacing on the sides of the glass, there was no sediment in the bottle, this drink had aromas of toasted malt, citrus hops, light orange fruit, faint caramel, malt and fruit sweetness, it had flavors of toasted malt, caramel, citrus and light pine hops, faint bread and fruit, the finish had a less than medium to medium hop bitterness with a little malt following, malt and hops were pretty balanced, the mouth feel was light and it was a little creamy on the tongue with average to lively carbonation, a nice APA.

Bottle: I’m shocked I didn’t rate this back in the day. The aroma consists of light-moderate caramel, citrus, some sweeter fruits, and a touch of grass. It pours a transparent amber with a two finger white head that has excellent retention. There’s some nice webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with light-moderately fruity with some faint caramel in the background. The finish has light-moderate citrus, light grapefruit, with a hint of grass. It’s light-medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall...a really solid maltier Pale Ale. I could see drinking quite of few of these in the summer.

I was pleasantly surprised with this one! Foggy tan color with a thick head, lots of lace and a nice sweet hoppy aroma. Mildly sweet and hoppy with a pleasant bitter mouthfeel. Not too bitter, blended very well with the rest of the flavor. Finish is hoppy, slightly bitter and dry. A great Pale Ale!

12oz bottle. Aroma: Sweet caramel, bready malt, chocolate, citrus, and light spicy hops. Appearance: Amber in color and lightly hazed. Light bone head was full and frothy with good retention. Nice lacing. Flavor: Sweet maltiness with notes of caramel, chocolate, bread dough. Light hop levels for an APA. Citrus, spice, light earthiness. Moderate bitterness. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: I was surprised by the maltiness of this one. The chocolate flavor really jumped out some times. Some light oxidation was coming through as well.

Citrus, chacolate, and mild hops aroma. Golden pale with thin head. Full body with notes of chacolate...well balanced. Smooth with a mild bitter finish.

Pale yellow pour. Foamy off-white head. Nice lace. Light floral aroma, with a slight hint of warm bread. Slight bitterness in taste and finish. O.K taste. I keep looking for something else based on the higher ratings, but I’m not finding it.

Anniversary Trip 2007

5/19/2007: New Holland Paleooza is clear and light copper in color with a thin, offi-white head that leaves squiggly lacing lines around the glass. The visible carbonation seems to be mild. The aroma has floral hops, toasted malt, and toffee. The flavor is very toasty and nutty with a mild floral and citrusy bitterness. Medium body and quite smooth. A very nice pale ale!

Draught sample at New Holland Brewing Company’s restaurant and pub in downtown New Holland, Michigan.

12oz bottle (thanks to Ogglethorp) poured a slightly hazed amber/orange color with a nice off white head. Aromas of sweet caramel malts and some slightly oxidized citrus hops. The taste had a big amount of caramel to it and not much in the way of hop bitterness. More of a flavor hopped beer that a bitter beer. Overall I think this might be a better beer to get fresh off the tap instead of the bottle.
