2015 bottle. Dark brown color with very small light brown ring of a head and oily, spotty lacing. Aroma and flavor have rich caramel malts, creamy, smooth, with a nice addition of bourbon. Great combination and flavor- itís delicious!

Bottle in a tulip at Split thy Skull. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of light oak and bourbon, some sweet and pale malts, and bitter hops. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty boring wheat wine and not much bourbon.

12 oz. bottle. 2014 Vintage. Ruby/ brownish color, full lasting head in the snifter. Aroma is mild dark fruits, pumpernickel bread hints and a subtle amount of bourbon.

Consumed at cellar temperature. The flavor shows the thick toffee base with raisins, dates and figs. Bold dark fruits. Body is fuller side of medium with a slightly slick texture. Even after nearly two years in the bottle, the bourbon is still rather bold. Honestly, must be vintage variants because this is a very nice sipper!

Bottle from Caponeís. Pours hazy, ruddy, brown with tan head. Nose was heavy oak, bourbon, caramel malt. Tasted oaky, with a heavy bourbon flavor, some hops, caramel, tannins. Dense and late hot finish, and a true behemoth of a beer.

Nice vanilla coconut bourbon character in this blonde Barleywine. Never had the base, but this is quite good.

12oz bottle from Rays in Tosa. Cellared for 2 months. Reddish brown pour with a tan head leaving some streaky lace. Aroma had sweet dark fruits, nuts, grapes and bourbon. Taste is of sweet fruit, nuts, strawberries, grapes, biscuity malts, and tangy cranberries - all soaked in bourbon. Medium to full bodied. With alcohol. Finishes sweet and fruity but not cloyingly so. This was better then expected. Not having the original, tough to know what all the bourbon treatment did, although it shows through a lot. Tasty with the different fruits. 14.6

Pours transparent chestnut with a thin but serviceable buff head. Bourbon-infused oak dominates the aroma while letting caramel, fig and subtle nutty tones share the stage. Bold flavor rushes bourbon, wood, figs, caramel and toasty malt across the palate. Mouthfeel presents firm body, if not much fizz. Go on this pilgrimage.

12 oz. bottle from Dutchís at home. Pours a clear deep amber/copper color with a small ivory head. The aroma is moderately sweet with caramel, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, and some alcohol standing out. The flavor has quite a bit of sweetness to it. There is caramel, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, dark fruits, raisins, a nutty character I donít remember in the base but I havenít had it in a while, the alcohol is present in the form of a slow burn as the liquid travels down my throat. Medium bodied, a bit sticky, and definitely warming. Solid.
