Bottle. Poured clear dark copper color with a moderate frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy bourbon, dark fruit and sweet malt aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark fruit sweet bourbon flavor with a medium to heavy sweet alcohol finish of moderate to long duration. This is a complex standout beer.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate caramel, fruit/raisin, vanilla, brown sugar, bourbon, and light oak. It pours a transparent dark copper with a small off-white head that eventually fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. There is some dotted lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate-heavy caramel, toasted brown sugar, fruit, and light raisin. The finish has molasses, vanilla, bourbon, and light wood. It’s full bodied with a rather sticky mouthfeel and mild carbonation.

I got this great beer from Strykzone who sends so many great beers. This poured a dark garnet red with a bit tan head and very little lacing. Nose of bourbon on caramel malts and some ripe fruit. Bold body from the when I suspect. Flavor is very rich with the bourbon leading the way. The ripe fruit follows. Finish is boozy but in a good way. This is a sipper for sure as it is amazingly rich.

Pours brown, ruby, with a short ivory head. Aroma is strong....raisins, vanilla, malt, nuts. Flavour is sweet and BIG...malt, caramel, raisin, vanilla....nearly candied.... Nice bourbon and oak tones. Bready...boozy. Very good, if just a liiiitle too sweet.

Bottle. Boozy bourbon , brown sugar malt, cherry, black bread aroma - reminds me a little of fruit cake. Clear viscous chestnut with a small beige head, thick creamy lacing. Boozy bourbon, vinous fruit, very astringent oaky flavor with an herbal bitter finish. Smooth full body, very dry, alcohol warmth.

This was a suprise draft at a beerfest a while back. From notes. Bourbon dominates with caramel and fermented fruits right behind it. A little woody and vanilla in there too. Very solid beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark cola mahogany color with a thin wispy off white film. Aroma is nice smooth bourbon caramel malt dark fruit; cherry with soft vanilla. Taste has a smooth really nice bourbon flavor of vanilla bean cherry and burnt caramel and spice, with a bit of saltiness. Palate is full slick sticky and warming. Wow this is awesome! I would go with a higher rating, but the booze is strong with this one!

12oz bottle - pours deep amber with khaki head. Nose is oats and caramel. Flavor adds prunes, nuts and booHOOze. Sweet to max. a sipper no doubt. Light woody aftertaste. For a BA, the bourbon element is subtle. I would pair this with ice storm power outage, a chimney fire, saucisson sec and day old baguette.

Poured into snifter. Pours a clear very dark amber color with a thin white head that quickly fades. Must be filtered to make a wheat ale this clear. Aroma is raisins, toffee, burnt sugar, bourbon, and apples. Taste is sweet syrup at first and then the bourbon takes over all the way through the finish. You get the raisins and apples early too. Very little alcohol burn is very nice. Slight spiciness in the finish too. Fairly thick and syrupy. I like this but don’t love it. A little too syrupy and I would prefer more hops to balance.

Draft at Khyber Pass. Snifter. Dark copper brown pour with slight tan foam that disappears. Notable Bourbon notes off the top. Nice mix of barrel-aged dark red fruits. Boozy chocolate covered raisins. Toffee. Red plum pits. Salted caramels. Butterscotch. Sweet burnt oranges. Root beer. Heady vanilla bourbon. Pretty tasty.
