Commercial Description:
Ah, spring. It's the season that breathes new life into our beautiful landscape and puts a hop in our step. It has also inspired artists of all mediums for centuries.

One such artist was Lida Rogers, a schoolteacher in our hometown more than 75 years ago. Caught up in spring fever, Lida proposed planting tulips throughout the city in celebration of Holland's heritage. Her inspiration bloomed into a living work of art: Tulip Time. Today, Tulip Time is a world-class festival showcasing the Holland community as six million tulips blossom into an incredible homage to spring. Red Tulip Ale is a salute to the tulip, spring, and of course our dear Lida. A smooth and malty red ale, Red Tulip evokes spring's renewing spirit.

12 oz bottle. This beer is missing something. Poured a light reddish color lits of carbonation and off white head. Malty and sweet aroma. Light on flavors, almost feels watered down. Nothing stood out. An average beer.

Bottle. Clear reddish amber with a tan head. Aroma of wood, smoke. Flavor is lively balance of malt and hops. A very good beer.

Bottle at Art’s.
Pours a solid amber with a nice, off-white head. An aroma of cherry, nut, and sweet malt greets the olfactory just before the tongue is dashed with weak hops and watered down malt. Average mouthfeel for an average watery beer.

THOUGHTS: Nice malty beer, but nothing really special. This was my first New Holland. From this one I’m looking forward to trying more. There was quality in this one, but i hope there is a little originality in some of the others. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark reddish amber with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma was moderate to heavy cookie, nuttiness and caramel malt and very light hops. The initial flavor was light to moderately sweet and acidic, and lightly bitter; while the finish was moderate to heavily sweet, lightly bitter and slightly sour with an average duration. It was very malty, but watery. There was caramel and nutty malts, a little tea and ever so slight hops. The medium body was a little syrupy with fizzy carbonation and a very light astringent finish.
