hombrepalo (446), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 1, 2008 12 oz bottle. This beer is missing something. Poured a light reddish color lits of carbonation and off white head. Malty and sweet aroma. Light on flavors, almost feels watered down. Nothing stood out. An average beer.
joshwilfong (509), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 13, 2008 very attractive bright red appearance and large white head. not much else going on though. very little malt component with maybe a hint of crystal and a very dry finish with not a large hop component. very boring beer, poor everettvh (12), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Aug 13, 2008 Bottle. Clear reddish amber with a tan head. Aroma of wood, smoke. Flavor is lively balance of malt and hops. A very good beer. KAggie97 (1884), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Aug 9, 2008 Bottle at Art’s. Pours a solid amber with a nice, off-white head. An aroma of cherry, nut, and sweet malt greets the olfactory just before the tongue is dashed with weak hops and watered down malt. Average mouthfeel for an average watery beer. Heathen (492), Riverside, New Jersey, USA Aug 8, 2008 THOUGHTS: Nice malty beer, but nothing really special. This was my first New Holland. From this one I’m looking forward to trying more. There was quality in this one, but i hope there is a little originality in some of the others.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark reddish amber with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma was moderate to heavy cookie, nuttiness and caramel malt and very light hops. The initial flavor was light to moderately sweet and acidic, and lightly bitter; while the finish was moderate to heavily sweet, lightly bitter and slightly sour with an average duration. It was very malty, but watery. There was caramel and nutty malts, a little tea and ever so slight hops. The medium body was a little syrupy with fizzy carbonation and a very light astringent finish. SHANER4 (200), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jul 27, 2008 12 oz. bottle - Poured a deep red color With small head. Aroma is light, hardly any. Taste is malty and quite nice, a very drinkable brew.
