On tap at New Holland last week. Reviewed from notes.
Pours a moderate amber color with a thin off-white head and some good lacing. The nose carries a bit of bready malt without too much else. Slight bit of earthy hops. Flavor has an amber-malt base and a slight biscuity chewiness. Other than that, not much going on. Pretty plain. Light-medium body.

12oz bottle. Slear orange/amber color, thin off-white head, good lace. Soft carbonation, good dry texture, nutty aroma, nice hop note, sort of a caramel malt flavor. Light sweet and bitter taste, some salt/savoriness. OK, but not really interesting... I don’t think amber ales are really my thing

On tap at New Holland, pours a clear amber with a slight off white head and some lacing, the aroma was sweet with a touch of caramel and malt, the flavor has a very malty front with a slight finish of hops that comes through, fairly bland overall though.

Bottle:   Fiery golden, clear, moderate to large foamy off-white head, spotty lacing, light carbonation.   Pale malt nose, fairly non-descript otherwise.   Seems slightly sweet.   Somewhat of a stale malty flavor, very smidgen of vegetable.   Low hop bitterness.   Average body and mouthfeel.   Finishes quick.   Not bad, but a little boring overall.   Could stand to be a little bigger.   Thanks Kevin!

Pretty light amber color. Clear. Bland aroma and taste typical for the style. Light carmel taste, with some hops in after taste. I find the style a boring compromise between porters and IPAs.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Svesse (4215) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 26, 2011
(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, toasty nose with notes of dark bread, toffee and nuts. Malty, slightly toasty nose with nuts, caramel, dark bread and a spicy, slightly metallic bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Medium body. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

Thin head of off-white bubbles. Light grainy and malty aroma with a bit of nuttiness. Color is a dark reddish amber. Some herbs and tea leaves and clean and smooth flavor with a good amount of dry bitterness at the end. A decent, easy drinking amber.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Elwood (1834) - Between a rock and a hard place, Virginia, USA - SEP 9, 2011
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a nice amber color with a small frothy, light tan head. The nose is slightly floral and nutty. The flavor leans towards the malt side with a good dose of nutty malt and some earthy hops. Straight forward bitterness on the back end. Prickly carbonation. A little caramel as the beer warms. A lingering light bitterness in the finish. Not bad. Lacks depth. A decent daily drinker.
