Sundog is an ale whose amber color is as deep as the copper glow of a Lake Michigan sunset. Its Biscuit malt and Fuggle hops give it a toasty character and a subtle, malty sweetness. We believe Sundog is the deepest, richest amber you’ll find anywhere.

12 oz bottle. Poured a hazy amber color, slight white head, some lacing. Aroma was doughy and malty. Flavor was a bitter caramel malt, some hops at the end. Palate is thin and fizzy. It’s drinkable.

I don’t know about this one. It looks right, but something doesn’t quite taste right. A little off. Caramel flavor throughout, really dry.

pours amber with a thick tan head. Aroma is toast, toffee, nutty. Taste is toasty and sweet. Medium bodied and has a lightly dry, slightly metallic finish. Pretty good amber.

12oz bottle from Pace High Carryout. Amber brown pour with a thin cream colored head. Aroma of roasted grain, nutty. Tastes of sweet caramel malt, nutty, herbal, citrus, biscuity. Not an amber fan, but this was solid.

12 oz bottle poured a deep, red-amber with an oversized off-white head. I had to wait for the head to die down a bit before sampling this amber. Aroma: the earthy Fuggle hops work great in the flavor but not so well for my nose. Flavor: rich and malty; lightly sweet but turning mildly bitter by the aftertaste which also has a touch of hops. Approaches 8. Feel: very smooth; near medium body; Medium, soft carbonation. O: a wee bit more malt and hops than your average amber. Nicely done.

Sundog pours a deep rusty copper with a decent beige head that lasts a good while. The aroma is toast and caramel. The flavor is toast and caramel as well. This beer lacks complexity. It is a fairly malt forward amber that is pretty easy to drink, but it fails to make a distinctive impression. Overall the beer is average.

Tap @ TacoMac Windward. Dark copper, thick rocky foam. Toasted barley malts. Well balanced, toasted grains. Well made Amber Ale. Finishes dry. (4228)

This ale poured a cloudy dark red colour with a minimal foamy head. To the nose there are scents of grassy hops, dough and toast. First sip was smooth with a mild shot of hops and lightly sweet malt flavour on top of brown sugar and mildly smoked caramel. Finish is a little smokey with flavours of caramel lingering.

Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. It poured a hazy copper with a frothy beige head. Aroma of hops, spicy malt, and a hint of soap. Taste of semisweet caramel and malt with a bitter finish.

Pours a slightly hazy amber. Mild aroma of toasty malts with some hop spice. Flavor is crisp toast, with mildly sweet biscuit malt. Well balanced with some warm spicy hops with a touch of deep citrus hop. There’s a whole lot of flavor for session amber ale. I’ll certainly have it agalin.
