COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you’ll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Has a coffee and malt smell with a backdrop of oats Appearance- Dark red moving into brown. nice white head Taste- has an oatmeal coffee mix flavor, not my favorite style but not bad. Palate- full bodied with a thick texture, has slight carbonation Overall- Not terrible, if you are a fan of oatmeal stouts you would probably enjoy this

12oz bottle. Pours dark brown almost black with a creamy tan head. Sweet malt flavors with a dry finish. Good for what it is but it makes me crave a stronger more full bodied imperial stout.

Superb. Very much a prototypical oatmeal stout. Smooth. Great malt flavors. Sweet, but not too much.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown, big lasting creamy light brown head and great lacing. aroma of chocolate, burnt malt, coffee. Lightly bitter, light body, thin feel, average to lively fine carbonation and a too brief too light bitter finish.

Bottle shared during the satellite Travlr 10K tasting at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Thanks to Fergus (I think...)! Pours clear brown with a creamy, beige head. Simple beer but tasty, with sugary bread, light roast, some tar, balancing bitter earth. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Light jammy berries on the finish along with notes of chocolate and understated roasted malts. Pretty good. Easygoing and tasty.

Excellent brew. If it was thicker and creamier it would be absolutely ideal! Other than that it is still great- creamy, good body, sweet, not bitter. Chocolate notes. Not really any coffee flavor here. Malty. Easy to consume.

Tap: This beer may single handedly be respondible for my total craft beer endeavor. I still remember ordering a Guinness, getting rejected because it was a "craft" bar (which I was oblivious to, at the time), & having the waitress recommend me this one, to which I was subsequently blown away & made it my mission to expand my beer horizons each day. My tastes have changed over time, certainly, but there’s no denying that this is still a mighty fine oatmeal stout. Black as night, creamy light-tan, tight bubbled foam on top. Aroma of rich malt, burnt nuts, roasted grain, faint charred wood, smooth oats, & some light cream. Lovely roasted malt character on the palate, light bitterness balanced by the smoothing of the oats & a mildly sweet, creamy essence in the background. Touch of caramel, woodsy & nutty with bitter cacao dust & light anise. Creamy, frothy mouth feel, great for the style. New Holland’s best year-rounder by a long shot.

12oz bottle. Pours a lucious black with a ring of white cream. Aroma is mostly dark chocolate, with a creamy base. Flavors are also rich, smooth, and chocolatey. Very creamy mouthfeel. Deliciously blended and effortlessly drinkable. This really is poetry.
