This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you’ll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

Poured a dark brown with a thick mocha head. Sweet aroma of chocolate and roasted coffee malts. Taste is primarily chocolate and toffee malts with a bit of hoppy dry finish. This heavy bodied brew is creamy and smooth. An enjoyable stout if nothing else.

Clear dark brown beer, short lived pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, some fine minerally carbonation on the backend. Smooth dark malts, dry. Mild dry cream. Cereal sweetness. Touch of dark chocolate and a whisper of fruit. Dry finish. Tasty enough but at the end of the day it’s just another stout, albeit a smooth one.

Dark brown to black pour with a 2 finger, creamy tan head that has great retention and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is roast, sweet dark caramel, toasted nuts, sweet cereal malt and chocolate syrup. Flavor is chocolate (more cocoa-like than the aroma), roast, a little char, a hint of smoke, sweet malt, caramel, light tree fruit sweetness and a hint of herbal and pine hops. Medium body, syrupy, slightly creamy entry, light, blanketing and slightly sharp carbonation and oily, slightly chalky and off dry finish. Good stuff overall.
