COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and youíll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

Bottle shared a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Pours brown to black with a large and thick beige head, aroma of malt, chocolate, honey and some sweetness, flavor of chocolate, malt, coffee and cookies, medium bodied, nice.

On tap at Joe Canals West Deptford.
Appearance: Opaque chestnut body with a tall and dense darker tan head on top with great retention.
Aroma: Very weak aroma with a subtle fruit leaning bias. Hints of chocolate are noticed with a dash of caramel.
Taste: The flavor is mildly sweet with a dash of roast, a dash of smoke, a dash of caramel and a dash of chocolate. A little of everything but nothing is prominent.
Palate: Creamy and full-bodied.
Overall: Really unimpressive. Itís not that itís a bad beer, itís that it lacks focus. Thereís a lot of subtle flavors, but nothing that stands out. Everything sort of gets lost.

Nice beer taste and smell is just like spent grain. Dark head that fades but takes a while. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is roasted malt and cereal with no hop and no esters. The appearance is black and mostly opaque with a light tan tall head with moderate retention. The flavor is very Rosi with oatmeal and cereal. The roasting this follows through and comes out a little burnt. The mouth feel is very creamy due to the oatmeal and style with low carbonation. Overall it's nice and smooth creamy roasted beer with a slightly unpleasant Burnt aftertaste.

Pours a black color with a tan head. Aroma is very coffee-like with a lot of roasted malts. Taste follows the nose. Not as smooth or silky as I usually expect from an oatmeal stout. Not bad, but Iíve had better.

Draft at Eulogy. Opaque black pour with a large frothy tan head. Nice aroma. Dark roasted coffee. Chocolate nibs. Creamy bubbly pudding, though feels watery by the finish. Sweet charcoal notes in the mix as well. Works as an easy drinking session stout.

Bottle. Slight roasty aroma. Dark color, no red tint. Medium body. Pretty good flavor, but not overly roasty. Good beer overall.
