COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you’ll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

Bottle. Very dark with frothy tan head and good lacing. Smells roasty and chocolatey. A bit metallic and herbal, but also chocolaty and roasty. Dry finish.

Chocolate and oat flavors and aromas, blended with hints of coffee, caramel and an aftertaste of cookies. An easy to drink stout, though a bit too light bodied.

Pours a very dark brown. Came to the table with pretty much no head. Has very little aroma (roasty), but a pleasant roast taste.

The Poet. An Oatmeal stout from New Holland brewery in Holland, Michigan. Appearance dark brown/black with a creamy 1.5 finger head beige in color. Very nice lacing Aroma roasty malty slightly sweet with hint if chocolate. Not floral at all Taste very smooth and creamy malty chocolate flavor with just a slight coffee undertone. Minimal hops bitterness Mouthfeel smooth and cream, lightly carbonated Overall. One if the best oatmeal stouts I have had. Wish I could get it In Louisiana and would of brought more homes from Ohio ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clean malty aromas with a touch of bitter chocolate and coffee. Black with a tan cap. Bittersweet with notes of dark chocolate. Medium bodied with a bittersweet finish.

Bottle from giant eagle. Nose is a bit sweet and off a bit. It's better after that. Black pour and Persistent head. Smooth mouthfeel and oat and nut fill it out. Mild mid gulp sharpness of alcohol but its hidden. A pretty good oatmeal stout. ---Rated via my mouth

Bottle. Pours near pitch black with a small head that quickly fizzes away. Aroma is roasted coffee and milk chocolate. Taste is a nice balance of roasted coffee and chocolate. Moderate sweetness balances pretty well with the flavors and the mild bitterness. Finish is creamy and roasty. Mouthfeel is creamy but a bit watery too. Overall, a solid sweet stout.

This beer had the texture of the cheapest melted chocolate in my mouth. After I drank this beer I melted two Hershey bars and put them in a Budweiser and had a better experience
