3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle to tulip pint glass. Pours a dark brown with a red tint, more amber than black, if that makes since. Low carbonation and a tan had that doesnt last, but does leave laces on the glass. Nose is toasted malt, some dark chocolate and coffee. Most of what is expected with this style. Flavor is very aggresive! Bitter with dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, and basically replicating the nose, but amplified. Milkshake like mouthfeel but slightly lighter body than most of the oatmeal stouts I have tried, and im not sure if thats a good thing or bad yet. Finish is bitter and dry; making it very drinkable and enjoyable even after a pint, probably due to the balance this brew has. This is something I could session and recommend

Dark brown stout. Took a few sips to begin enjoying this one, as the sweet malty oatmeal taste began to kick in. Very smooth, very enjoyable beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours pitch black with a massive head that lingers for a very long time and leaves nice, fairly thick rings of lacing. 4 on appearance. Aroma is mild, but has some roasted malt, bread, and purple fruit. Silky mouthfeel, roasted malts, and more purple fruit in the flavor. This is really, really tasty. A close associate agreed. Iím surprised this isnít more highly rated. One of the smoothest stouts Iíve had. The purple fruits really balance the roast well also. Actually would appeal to Belgian Strong or Imperial Porter fans (that would be me) in the mood for something a little lighter. Gambled on a six-pack of this - attractive packaging, seemed interesting - and I won. Would be a 4 if the aroma were stronger.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark black coffee with almost no head to speak of. Aromas of licorice and chocolate. Taste is sweet malt, chocolate and doughy bread. Light carbonation and medium body leaves a silky mouthfeel and makes for a pretty smooth drinking stout. Overall pretty pleased with this one. Opens up nicely as it warms.
