3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a black color with a tan head. Aroma is very coffee-like with a lot of roasted malts. Taste follows the nose. Not as smooth or silky as I usually expect from an oatmeal stout. Not bad, but I’ve had better.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
poured out see through brownish ruby colored with a finger thick head that was of white mocha colored which was bubbly but thick. there is lacing around around the glass and the head fell fast but "slowly". you can tatse bitter sweet chocolate and roasted coffee which all go together very well. it finishes really nice with a plesent aftertaste which will please your palate.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle. Pours dark dark brown with light white head. Not a ton of flavor and not real bitter. Taste is roastiness with hints of coffee. Lacks something that other great stouts have. Decent and drinkable though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The aroma is hard to place, maybe a touch of wood, but for the most part you get a lot of roast and maybe even some toast!!! The palate is actually quite complex. The medium-full body sports a dry, roasty ale, with little to no hop aroma, some bready/cereal character, a nice lingering bitterness too (i think from malt, not from hops). An oatmeal stout that won’t fill you up!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
very opaque black, transmitted amber. spotty lacing. 1/2 finger head which disappated. roasted malt aroma. no visible bubbles but conditioning is active, but not overly so. first sip is heavenly. can’t really detect the oatmeal. dark malty goodness. excellent quality. tad bit of porter at the end if you’re looking for it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle - Pours oily dark brown/black with medium light tan head. Aroma is malty with chocolate and coffee. Palate was not as heavy as it poured. Medium in body with a touch of carbonation. Upfront taste is roasted coffee with some malt present. Follow through is bitter roasted coffee with a hint of chocolate sweetness. Aftertaste brings out dark chocolate notes and more roastiness. Overall this is a pretty good stout with heavy roasted coffee. Not the best stout I’ve ever had, but definitely not the worst.

Not bad. One of the better New Hollands I have tried. Good sweet roasted malt flavor. Too watery for me. I dont know why New Holland brags about being non-filtered. There’s hardly any sediment in their beers.
