3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Chocolate and oat flavors and aromas, blended with hints of coffee, caramel and an aftertaste of cookies. An easy to drink stout, though a bit too light bodied.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Poured a black color with a very nice tan head. Strong coffee, chocolate, and roasty malt aromas. The beer had a medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, and an abrupt finish. The flavor had a medium sweetness with the same flavors as the aroma. I am becoming more and more a fan of dark beers and this one just adds to the list of good dark beers. I was very impressed with easy it went down. I would definately drink this again and recommend it to others.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Fizzy for a stout, I like them flatter. Very bitter smelling and weak. Very dark! Hope this goes down smooth. Just as bitter as it smell... but it tastes just like oats! (It is an oatmeal stout of course). Kinda nutty, slightly... grassy? Medicinal mouthfeel. Decent but I won’t drink it unless someone ordered it for me. Perhaps it is dark and broody?

On draft at Savor in DC (5/17/08). Very slight tastes of nuttiness and some toffee, with a sweet oatmeal finish.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, molasses, coffee and banana (!). Poured a nice black, with a good creamy tan head that slowly receded into a creamy cap. Left nice lacing. Taste of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, milk chocolate. Medium body with creamy and oily texture. Soft carbonation. Unique finish that is sweet chocolate, then mild coffee in a long mildly bitter finish. A very nice stout. I will definitely buy again. A very good job by New Holland in what I consider to be a very unique stout. Served in a Pint.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Color is opaque black with a tan head that clings to the glass. Nose is creamy, mildly nutty with an incongruous hint of sage. Body is medium-heavy, right about where I like my stouts and the taste is creamy, showing notes of chocolate, cream, nuts and coffee. A little bit of sweetness followed by a semi-bitter finish that lingers for a moment.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark brown with thin white head. The nose is coffee, cereal, mildly roasty and a small hop presence. Thin stout and not very thick. Taste has a nice bitterness, a tad bit of chocolate. Very light oatmeal stout, easy to drink and I would drink if available but not something I would go out of my way to obtain.

Below average for what I expect from a stout. It does have a nice flavor, but is a bit too spritzy.
