COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you’ll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2012 Pours black, with brownish head. Nice aroma with sweetness, oats, some chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt with hints of chocolate and slight bitterness. Smooth. Excellent oatmeal stout. This is the best of the New Holland portfolio, IMO

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep, dark brown-black with ruby highlights and an average frothy tan head that lasts throughout. Good lacing. The aroma is sweet with roasted malt and a hint of coffee. Flavor has a rich malty sweetness, a nice roasted flavor, and a touch of coffee. Great hop balance. Finishes slightly dry. Full bodied. Really smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Medium carbonation.

Very smooth and has a definite oat flavor profile. Not very burnt, more sweet than anything. Good example of the genre, but not outstanding. Also, I get a hint of licorice.

Black with white head. Nice rich aroma with some roast and chocolate. Rich malty flavor with good roast. Medium-full bodied, but lacked the slickness usually associated with oats. Overall nice.

Mild nose with hints of the usual coffee and chocolate. Maybe a slightly smokey aroma as well. Pour was a beautiful clear black with a short lived small head. Light and mild flavor would make this a good first stout for a confirmed macro drinker. Lots of bubbles, smooth finish, nice burps :>). Plesant and easy to drink.
