Had This on draft at Teller’s in Hyde Park a suburb of Cincinnati..If you have not had this on draft i highly recommend trying it on draft to enjoy the true beauty of this stout. Creamy sweet nice carmel roasted malt overtones. Gentle on the palette and easy to drink alcohol hidden very well and was an awesome choice with my steak dinner!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. Pours nearly black with 1 cm of tan creamy head that is slowly diminishing. Aroma of chocolate and malts. Initial flavor is a mix of chocolate and coffee. Flavor ends with more hops and lasts for a while. Slight lacing, no noted carbonation, medium mouthfeel, and alcohol was well hidden. Drinkable because it is so light, nothing real special for a stout.

From a bottle. Tons of cocoa and bittersweet chocolate. Good roasted malt background. Rich chocolates aroma. Very tasty stout, but definitely on the sweeter side.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This beer is brown with ruby highlights. It has a tan head and nice lacing. It smells like chocolate, coffee, and just a little bit like booze. My first impression is watery. It is very lightly carbonated and feels watery in my mouth. The flavor is also a little watery. The flavor is weak and unimpressive. A little bit of coffee flavor and a little bit of the oatmeal taste, but mostly it tastes like flat seltzer. I am dissappointed by this beer that tries to conjures up allusions of Edgar Allen Poe. I expected something with a lot more umph. Something like an axe to the face, in the good Poe-ish sort of way. This beer might be good for a hangover on a Sunday morning, accompanied by a bowl of fiber cereal or wheat toast.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured really dark, came out thick too; only a little bit of tan head resting at the top of it.
Smelled like a stout, vaguely chocolatey, roasted malts, and an underlying hoppy aroma.
Tasted great, had the initial "stout kick" but the oatmeal smoothed it out nicely. This was a great, well balanced stout that I could drink time and time again.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is probably one of the smoothest beers I have ever had. Comparable to Dark Horse’s Too Cream Stout in that regard. Has a typical dark/brown coloration of a stout with a bold yet smooth mix of coffee, chocolate, and a hint of roasted nuts. It is a thin for a stout but makes up in drinkability and SMOOTHNESS.

Taste the coffee and chocolate. Almost has a vanilla like aroma though, just an overall sweet aroma.

Deep cola color, not what I expected out of an oatmeal stout. Decent lacing and creamy brussels around glass. Malt sweetness then raisiny carmely mellowy goodness. Nutty then clean finish. Thin for style but very drinkable.
