COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you’ll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

Draft at TGI fridays of all places. Very little aroma. Kinda watery without much flavor. Not that Impressed. You’d think they would want something more flavorfull to put in the bourbon barrels.

Bottle poured to glass. Black brew with a rocky brown head. Smellso of heavily roasted malts, toffee, molasses. Cramy full mouthfeel and toffee. Breif bitters finish and good lacing. A very nice oatmeal stout.

Solid black with a fizzy tan head that fades down after a few minutes, spotty lacing. Got the scent of nutty malt, dark chocolate with a hint of mild coffee. Flavors of roasted malt upfront followed by more subtle hints of dark chocolate coffee, and oats and is rounded out with a hint of hops. Has a crisp and smooth, medium to full bodied mouthfeel.

A great representative of the style! The flavor was roasted malt, chocolate, and espresso. The mouthfeel was nice and chewy. I really enjoyed this stout and would definitely try it again!

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2012 Pours black, with brownish head. Nice aroma with sweetness, oats, some chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt with hints of chocolate and slight bitterness. Smooth. Excellent oatmeal stout. This is the best of the New Holland portfolio, IMO

Draught at Maproom. Black with thin tan head. Nice stout, pretty robust flavors for an oatmeal stout. Very nice.

Bottle: Dark body, tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee. Flavor was thin for a stout. Was expecting more from this offering.
