Bottle. Poured a opaque dark brown, with a chocolately head. Lacing observed. Nice malty aroma, some chocolate tones. Sweet, malty taste with some coffee and chocolate to it. Decent.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
This was the surprise of the night for me -- VERY well brewed! This one inspires me to seek out New Holland more thoroughly.
Appearance: Black, black, black. Imposing in the glass.
Aroma: Oatmeal, for sure. Sweet and malty with a fine balance between the two.
Taste: Nice! Chocolate predominates, with a nice slight-hop presence. I take another sip. And another...
Palate: Smooth and spritzy, just the way I like it.
Overall: This is an excellent stout! Bravo, good friends at New Holland. Here’s one to revisit time and again. I’d love this with vanilla ice cream, or scallops for that matter. Or with my favorite movie.
Serving type: bottle

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2012 Delicious dark beauty. Roasted coffee and rich chocolate with some toffee and caramel on the nose and tastes the same. Creamy, rich and frothy with a great flavor. One of my new favorites.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Black with thin fizzy head, which dissipated quickly after pouring. Wasn’t as impressed with this as my mouth was hoping it to be. To much coffee in the nose, followed by a touch of carmel and chocolate. Mouthfeel was considerably thinner than I was expecting, and whats up with the carbination? Other than that an intersting stout.

Had This on draft at Teller’s in Hyde Park a suburb of Cincinnati..If you have not had this on draft i highly recommend trying it on draft to enjoy the true beauty of this stout. Creamy sweet nice carmel roasted malt overtones. Gentle on the palette and easy to drink alcohol hidden very well and was an awesome choice with my steak dinner!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. Pours nearly black with 1 cm of tan creamy head that is slowly diminishing. Aroma of chocolate and malts. Initial flavor is a mix of chocolate and coffee. Flavor ends with more hops and lasts for a while. Slight lacing, no noted carbonation, medium mouthfeel, and alcohol was well hidden. Drinkable because it is so light, nothing real special for a stout.

From a bottle. Tons of cocoa and bittersweet chocolate. Good roasted malt background. Rich chocolates aroma. Very tasty stout, but definitely on the sweeter side.
