COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and youíll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

12 oz. bottle: Pours a murky black though not completely opaque with a brown sustaining head. Aromas are a strong roasted malt presense and bitter dark chocolate. Flavor is slightly watery (but not overly so) coffee, dark chocolate with the hops showing themselves in the end and on into the finish.

The Poet pours black with a thick light tan head that lasts a long while and leaves thick lacing. The aroma is faint, but features coffee, cream and chocolate. The flavor is cream, coffee and chocolate. Overall this is a nice stout.

Rich, yes. Creamy, no. Aroma is that wet dog kinda funk...is that how itís supposed to be? Dark brew, nice head. Mouth feel is a little thin. Too much carbonation for me. Taste is malty and it is smooth. Just ok.

Iím actually quite impressed with this. Itís everything a good stout should be. Good color, slightly sweet aroma, and a good coffee flavor. Bravo to New Holland!

Beer pours a nice black with a decent two finger off white head light tan head. The head really sticks around on this beer. The nose starts with a very nice milk chocolate, followed by some slight bitter espresso notes and roasted barley notes. There is also a nice bitter dark chocolate note as well. The beer mainly follows the nose, but the best part is the tremendous mouth feel. The beer is only 5.2% and it feels like a 10% behemoth. Excellent!

pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma is malt, biscuit, and just a hint of coffee. Thick creamy mouth feel. Taste is malty, faintly sweet. Just a hint of bitter on a quick finish. Good beer!

Pours black with a tint of red...no head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, molasses...some ash and maybe some earth hops. Flavor is sweet and the palate is thin and kind of boring. Has potential and is an easy drinker.

The commerical description states "stout is sheer beer poetry." Well whoever wrote must be reading Poetry for Dummies, this stuff is really disappointing. The utter taste of oatmeal isnít in a good way. almost tastes like to way too much Oatmeal in the outmeal stout. Coffee and chocolate notes are really subtle. Boo!!!!

Aromas of roasted malts, anise, char, and dark fruits. Taste is roasted malts and black licorice with some char and chocolate.
