COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and youíll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

Really good oatmeal stout. Smooth roasty oat flavor, no off putting bitter flavor.

Good! Nice roasted aroma with sweet malt and faint coffee. Taste is similar with faint coffee lots of roasted malts and a smooth finish--plenty of sweetness. The body seems a little lighter than I would have though for a stout that has oatmeal... still good though.

12 oz bottle from Biggie Wine & Liquor, poured into my 2010 Guinness World Cup glass. Black appearance with a large tan head and sticky lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, bitter chocolate and rich coffee notes. Similar flavor, nice roasted malts characters with a smooth, creamy feel and soft carbonation. Medium body with a lingering, light dry, and light bittersweet finish. This is my kind of stout! Just as good, if not better than Dragonís Milk IMO.

Great roast with solid coffee and cocoa notes. The oatmeal accentuates the creamy mouth feel and makes the roasting as of the malts really pop. Not sure this is a sweet stour, but itís quite good. Finishes with a light bitterness with solid roast, and bitter cocoa powder.

Very sweet stout with hints of chocolate, bread and a little smoke. I donít get much coffee. Low bitterness for a stout. Pretty good but a little too mild-mannered overall and lacking complexity.

Great oatmeal stout. A little bland, but for an oatmeal stout it is great.

12 oz bottle from LCBO, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep brown with ruby highlights and a decent light tan head. Aroma: Distinctly meaty and lightly smoky, there is an aggressive, stinging tart aroma...it stings the nostrils, some nice roasted malts lurk in the wings, overall though, a mess. Palate: Medium+ body, moderate, creamy carbonation. Flav.: Wet cardboard, somewhat meaty, not getting the smokiness from the nose, reasonable roasted malt, still messy, but in a different way; dry with moderate bitterness and a surprisingly clean, roasted malt finish.

Are you accepting crappy beer or is it deteriorating in storage...?

The beer pours a solid coca-cola black with a brown creamy head. Aroma was nutty malt, chocolate, and coffee. The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was bitter coffee, sweet chocolate, and a hint of molasses.

Bottle from GBBF 2014. Poured a really dark brown, with a thin tan head. Aroma of burnt malt, marmite and dates. Thick, smooth mouth feel. Flavours of treacle, ash and dark fruit. Finish was building roast bitterness, coffee and burnt sugar.

Single 12oz bottle . Pour was perfect oatmeal stout. Thick creamy head that stayed and stayed. Rich chocolate and coffee notes abound. Malty richness from first sip to last drop. Find this one and give it a try.
