COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you’ll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

very opaque black, transmitted amber. spotty lacing. 1/2 finger head which disappated. roasted malt aroma. no visible bubbles but conditioning is active, but not overly so. first sip is heavenly. can’t really detect the oatmeal. dark malty goodness. excellent quality. tad bit of porter at the end if you’re looking for it.

Black with nice tan head that lingers. Aroma is roasted malt and bitter chocolate. That carries through in the taste, which also carries some burnt sugar. Medium bodied. Very well balanced and drinkable stout.

12 oz bottle poured into a pub glass. Pours black with frothy tan head. Smells of chocolate, oats, roasted malt and molasses. Tastes of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and caramel. Nice and thick, creamy but not oily. Good beer would drink again.

Pours a rich dark black with a lighty brown head with good head retention. Molasses, toast, chocolate and some bread on the aroma. On the palate those rich creamy notes amplify the toast and blend well enough with those choclate like malty notes. Good length. Good stuff!

from Mondial de la Bière 2013, Mulhouse - murky black beer under a solid and long lasting creamy beige head; roasted aroma of chocolate and black coffee; medium-bodied, a light tartness balanced by some lactic notes; long aftertaste of mocha and pretty roasted

Black pour tan head. Roasted malts and a touch of caramel on the nose. Slight bitter start that turns sweet. Medium bodied.

Rich black pour with a generous fluffy light khaki head. Nice sweet and earthy roasty nose with a touch of chocolate and a wee kiss of cinnamon and roasted black malt. Smooth rich deep flavor with earthy cocoa and some roastiness and a smooth rounded finish from oats. Very enjoyable and dark and semisweet yet earthy.

Just delicious, chocolatey, oatmeal stout goodness! I love the fall and the beers it brings. I need to stop drinking though or do I?!? DAMN The Poet, I love your velvety smooth taste!

355 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a nearly black, dark brown with average-sized beige head. Aroma is predictably dark and roasty with notes of coffee and chocolate. Flavour is also quite roasty with lots of coffee and cocoa, as well as hints of dark fruit that provide a subtle sweetness. Plus body. Lovely creamy mouthfeel. Very nice.

Bottle. Clear dark reddish brown with a thin, foamy tan head that laces. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, light coffee and vanilla. Flavor is the same with some underlying sweet malt/dark fruit notes. Medium bodied, smooth with a slightly dry end.
