I poured this from a bomber into an imperial pint glass, foregoing my New Holland High Gravity Series tulip since it only holds eleven ounces and I was not sharing. It settles well, with a typical white ale cloudiness and pillow like white head. The aroma is mostly spice, coriander in particular, with resinous hop undertones. It is difficult to detect much else behind the strong spiciness, which also overwhelms the taste. The mouth feel is creamy and soft, presumably from the oats. While I do not plan to revisit this year’s edition, I may try it again next year in case the spice is dialed back.

Well, this was not quite what I expected. It is a murky orange color w/ a head of fine white bubbles and great sheets of lace. Its nose is fairly mild. I am getting a touch of lavender and some citrus, perhaps from coriander. Once tasted, a surprising spicy character comes out, something along the line of apples and cinnamon. I am not sure the origin of these flavors--or if they are even intentional--but it is actually quite pleasant and works quite well w/ the light, creamy texture. It finishes dry w/ a lingering spiciness. Honestly, this is pretty much a beer w/o style as I drank it, I guess just a "Belgian ale" which doesn’t really mean anything. I was expecting a typical white IPA and this is way more spicy. Still, the surprise is pleasant and that is always a good thing.

Warner Robins, Ga. - Lazy Dog Growler - 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy light orange with a light but persistent white head. Aroma has some clove and bubble gum accents. Flavor is closer to hefe than a wit. Pick up some banana accents, a brief hint of cloves, some saffron-like spiciness. Mouthfeel is thick enough. let’s just call this one decent.

Interesting white style ale. Has a very good appearance long-lasting head, lots of lace. Hazy light amber color. Aroma is yeast lemon malt. Flavors like aroma with some spice but the yeast dominates. Power of the yeast is a little too strong here for this beer.

Draft at Hopcat in Grand Rapids. Pours a hazy golden color. Aroma and taste are spices, citrus, and some sweet malts to balance the hops.

An aroma of Hops and Citrus. The body is on the dark side for a white. The taste starts out with a slight bit of malt followed by hops yet finishes with notes of citrus and yeast. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

Pours golden in color with little head from tap. Fruit essence on first sip finishing pretty bitter and tart. Less hoppy than many pale ales. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a bottle in Grand Haven MI. Pours a hazy amber with a thin white head. Aroma is really nice with oranges and some spicyness. Flavor is oranges cinnamon cardamom and yeastiness in the background. Slightly sweet. Finishes somewhat dry. Very nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz from total wine. Heavy on the spice and a bit of orange coming through later in the sip. Finish is a little sweet but not overly so. A bigger body that would make this work more in the fall but still a nice fruity refreshing drink.
