3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I poured this from a bomber into an imperial pint glass, foregoing my New Holland High Gravity Series tulip since it only holds eleven ounces and I was not sharing. It settles well, with a typical white ale cloudiness and pillow like white head. The aroma is mostly spice, coriander in particular, with resinous hop undertones. It is difficult to detect much else behind the strong spiciness, which also overwhelms the taste. The mouth feel is creamy and soft, presumably from the oats. While I do not plan to revisit this year’s edition, I may try it again next year in case the spice is dialed back.

At the brewpub. In the lets super hop every style of beer trend with US breweries this on works I thought. The yeasty fruity belgiany ness was tempered a bit by some piney herbal hops. Serving: Tap

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle - This hazy, pale gold beer has an aroma of lemon, grapefruit, and wheat. The flavor is led by the hops bitterness but supported by ample sweet wheat malt flavor with some citrus. It’s moderately bitter and quite refreshing. Good.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours deep hazy gold into a tumbler. White head with medium retention recedes to coat surface. Dusty caramel aromas. Soft with sweet caramel, summer flowers and pumpkin (?) upfront turning to bitter earth in the lasting finish.

12 oz. Lightly foggy orange-amber with a lasting covering of meringue. Aroma is flowery soap, toast, fenugreek and caramel. Taste is overpowering flowery spice, honey, soapy citrus zest and a touch of resin. Light-medium body is smooth and palatable with a low-medium carbonation.
