Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, grass, fresh hops and a very strong bit of citrus fruit. Medium-bodied; Strong wheatie flavour with potent hops up front and a good dose of sweetness on the tail end. Aftertaste shows some mild hops, wheat and yeast, along with coriander seed and some freshness. Overall, an actually nice and refreshing beer. I definitely enjoyed this - it would be a nice beer over the summer! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased in May 2008 at Kybecca in Fredericksburg, Virginia, sampled on 12-September-2008 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

From bottle. August Dayton Beer Tasting event - Favorite Summer Brews. A big disappointment considering the brewery. Poured hazy light yellow with little aroma. Flavors were muted with metallic aftertaste. Very generic tasting. Not a good showing for New Holland. I’ll stick to their High Gravity series.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a hazy, yellow body, topped with a fully diminishing white head of foam. No lacing. Aroma had notes of wheat and lemon. Flavor was dry, crisp, and bitter. Palate had bitter hops, which left a strongly bitter aftertaste on the sides of the tongue. This ale was not in keeping with the style: It was far too dry, too clear to be a true wit, and had an overpowering bitterness. If this were not labeled, I would have hesitated to call this a Wit.

From a bottle poured a hazy orange color with lots of head. Nice refreshing orange flavor with a quick finish.

Bottle from Pat’s. Pours semi-hazy medium straw color with frothy white head. Nose is limey citrus, some spicy yeasty notes, and pale malt. Tastes wheaty malty, with a pronounced limey citrus, some clovey spice, and mild yeasty notes. I liked this a tad more than most, but it seems like I favor wits in general more than most.
