COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Hudson is an American-style Pale Ale, with a bright, hoppy nose, smooth mouthfeel and quick, light finish. This represents a great introduction to the world of hoppy beers and should whet the appetite of true Hop Heads for what is yet to come.

Bottle. Nose is lightly sweet and tangy, hoppy with caramel, juicy citrus. Lightly hazy copper with abundant, slow-rising carbonation and a sudsy beige head. Taste is medium bitter but with the sting of fresh grapefruit, some light apple juice and thin caramel, crisp full body and moderately dry with faint tang and yeast. A pleasant spiciness on the back end. A very solid pale ale these days, would have been revolutionary when I started drinking.

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, biscuit malt with faint grassy hops. In mouth, a grainy malt with light mineral notes, faint British hops, so-so. On tap at Barcade NJ, Dec. 31 2012.

In short: A problematic pale ale rotting within the bottle.
How: Bottle 12oz. Consumed fresh about 1 month after purchase. Dropped by my place by dand645, thanks Dan
The look: Clear dark golden body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Off-putting nose of wet dirty rug, ripe fruits and old stuff. That smells reminds me of walking in my grand-parents place when the grandmother was cooking a dessert. How long has it been since you opened the windows grandma? One month? I love you 40 year old shaggy carpet grandma. Taste is grainy malts, bread mold, ripe apricots, rotting flowers, watered down caramel and then the whole thing is filtered through my sweaty underwear. I wish this beer wasn’t tasty but it is. It’s strange how the beer felt fresh yet the flavors were all rot/sweat related. This beer is a mess. Another crappy beer from New Jersey Beer Company. This brewery has as much future as a male stripper in Iran.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours medium amber with a frothy/fizzy off-white head. Aroma is sort of earthy/floral with underlying caramel. Med body. Starts earthy, gets some malt after the carbonation lifts off. No question it’s bitter. Unusually earthy to me. We’re talkin mushroom, not funk.
