COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
To call C-Note very hoppy would be an understatement. It’s brewed with the seven "C" hops (Crystal, Cluster, Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, Columbus and Challenger) and pushes the bitterness limit to 100 International Bitterness Units.

bomber. strange that its 100 ibu and 6.9%. Based on the overall flavor I would have guessed 60 ibu and 10%. stronger alcohol taste then hop bitterness.....not sure how they pulled this off.

Bomber @ Chuck’s. Smells a little funky. Probably not as good as LSD, but OK in its own right. Does not taste like the advertised 100 IBUs, but that doesn’t bother me much.

Not as bitter as I was expecting from 100 IBU. Seemed to have a little too much of a alcohol taste to the beer. A cloudy caramel color.

On tap at 5-quad with Carla and Michael. Pours deep gold with off-white foam. Smells hoppy with hints of caramel.

Bomber. Big hoppy flavor and bitterness balanced with malty caramel. Good citrus and pine flavors in the background. A smooth drinker with a bitter finish that lingers. Tasty.

Bomber. Reddish copper colored with foamy tan head. The aroma is mostly floral hops, grapefruit and caramel. The flavor goes back and forth between earthy, bready malts and herbal hops with the addition of some orange, grapefruit and apricot notes in the background. The body is creamy for an IPA with moderate carbonation and a bitter finish with a slight citrus aftertaste. For 100 IBUs, it’s surprisingly smooth and easy drinking.

Pours a nearly opaque amber colour with a sudsy off-white head that leaves dense spotty lacing. The aroma is a righteous bouquet of pine, resin, orange zest, flowery hops and vinous, caramel-like malts. I’m detecting slight oxidation, as there is a sherry component here, but this is certainly due to the cross-country shipping in the summer heat. I’ve had it fresh at the brewpub and that certainly was not detectable there. It kinda feels like a mild barley wine, but I’m not complaining, I dig it. The flavour is extremely bitter, citric and resinous with just the right amount of chewy, caramel-like malt character to back it up. The finish is a bit boozier that the abv might suggest, but it’s still incredibly drinkable for a 100 IBU destroyer of senses. The mouthfeel is full and slick with prickly carbonation piercing through the chewiness. For the price, this is a good everyday bomber, for sure.

Draft at Fifth Quadrant. This one was very malty for an IPA. Tasty, but very malty.
