Draft at Uber. Deep rich looking toffee brown with a creamy khaki head. Nose is really big and rich. Malty toffee, brown sugar, banana fosters, with some light resinous hops lingering. Medium creamy body feel with carbonation a bit high. Caramelized nuts, brown sugar, dates, light esters, with subtle hops on the end. Sweet and earthy to really break it down, but zero flaws and a well done American barleywine.

On tap at The Horse Brass. Colour... dark brown a little head. Nose... caramelized sugar, dates and treacle. Palate... some carbonation, brown sugar, booze, oak, vanilla, marshmallow, dried stone fruits and a moderately long finish. Hardly seems like 11% ABV!

Notes from Seattle International Beer Festival. Nice and mild barleywine. Smooth, drinkable and remarkably mellow for only a one-year-old BW.
